Always good to see other bikers!
This is mine, the Speed Triple in front. Love it.

Ride a Harley Softail. Got it after I totaled my previous bike (or, an old guy t-boning me totaled it for me). Got it on a good deal and since I was riding highways to work it was a good move.

Then got a new job in the city and it's just OK. Thinking of getting a slightly smaller bike in the fall (Softail is 1400cc).

I'm pretty jelly, which do you prefer?
>>
>>23870193

S1K, it's great for the road and great on the track. All the electronics are amazing AND it has heated grips + quick shifter up and down.

ZX10R pulls like a beast. Haven't taken it on the track yet, waiting to have my full system akraprovic installed

I've got a Buell 1125CR.
>>
>>23870204
Nice, that akra should sound badass. Yeah I've ridden my mates s1krr and it was great, surprisingly roomy too I thought. But something about the new zx10r just speaks to me. Pretty sure my next bike will be a sportsbike again, I'm feeling the urge haha
>>
>>23870262

The ZX10 is nice. I had the S1K first, and the ZX must have done something right otherwise I wouldn't have got it! But the S1K wins it for me. The ZX definitely looks a lot better in person
>>
>>23870219
haha
I'm currently riding a YBR125, felt I should do some time on a little bike for the experience.

At the moment I'm planning on a KTM Duke 690 as next bike, because me being a clumsy fecker I want something I can easily catch when I drop it :D
>>
>>23870299
Yeah, my 400 is pretty light so if need be, I could pick it up no problem. I couldn't imagine having to lift my dads 800lb harley
>>
>>23870342
oh I'm not too fussed on picking big things up, but I'd rather catch it before anything hits the ground, like if I''m doing a u-turn and forget how to do it I could just hold it up with my leg even if it's leant way over, like the time I moved the bike with the side stand down and knocked it and didn't think to check before I went to put the bike back on the stand.
But I guess even little people ride heavy bikes, I'll have to get the hang of it one day.
>>
>>23870256
Thats a pretty cool looking bike man, got to admit I dont know much about Buells though.

Thanks man, admittedly Buels are pretty god damn weird bikes. They did a lot of random bits of engineering for them. Trying different things to see how they function you know? For example it doesn't have a fuel tank per se. The fuel sits in the frame of the motorcycle itself, they also have those big ass front brake discs with 8 piston calipers. They also have two radiators, one on each side, which accounts for the pods on the sides of the bike. I love the bike, but its ass ugly, haha. But its my ass ugly bike you know?
>>
>>23870636
Ah yeah I'd heard about the fuel in the frame, seems pretty weird! Wow, eight pistons in one caliper sounds like kind of a nightmare haha seems like they might be quite difficult to work on?
I think it looks pretty boss desu, and as long as you like it thats what matters!
>>
>>23870685
Well I wouldn't say its over difficult to work on, I mean its quite intuitive to be honest, despite its design its mostly barebones, the most difficult part about it is just the placement of certain components, otherwise I've never had any issues.

Any thank you, I love this fucking thing. I'll admit its not the most comfortable thing to ride. I mean it has a metric mega shit ton of torque. My buddy had a ZX10R and that thing was like a precision engineered intergalactic spaceship you know? My buell is like a fuckawesome biplane with a jet engine, haha. When you ride it you're essentially in a controlled slide the entire time, its just constantly fishtailing, so it takes a lot to get used to. But its my baby, so I don't mind.

Man, throwback to when my bike used to be clean...... British winter has not been friendly!
>>
>>23870716
Haha, its all about the fun-factor! The speed triple takes a bit of muscling around, but it handles pretty good. Its got pretty beastly torque too, though sometimes the power feels a bit too linear. I am leaning towards a big V-twin for my next bike, I've never owned one.
>>
>>23870757
Man the Speed Triples are pretty righteous looking monsters, I sat on one once and I literally could barely stand it up, those fuckers are tall. I've always wanted to actually ride one though, they seem like really awesome rides.

I have to say that I love my V-Twin, its just an awesome feel, they are a different animal you know? They feel good, sound good, and generally have decent power outputs, I would totally suggest getting something in the V style.

Thanks dude, yeah I've always liked the styling. Yeah they are pretty tall bikes, being 6'4" it works pretty well for me! They are a lot of fun to ride, makes you do stupid shit haha.
Sounds good, I keep eyeing up the older Aprilia v twins like this, supposed to be mental.
>>
Don't have any pics, but my parents have 2 Yamaha Fazers. Dad's is a 1000 and Mam's is a 600. Beautiful bikes.
Mates have bikes, one has a 125 Honda Varadero and the other has a Harley Sportster 883 which he's started customising.
Personally I plan on getting a Honds 250 Hornet as a first bike next summer when I have the money. Can't wait :D

Yeah I'm a shorter guy, I'm 5'7. My bike is a decent height for me, but those speed triples kind of surprised me.

I've heard good things about the Aprilia V-Twins, I love my Rotax Helicon V-Twin, but if I were gonna go get a new bike I'd go all out and get a god damn KTM RC8, thats one sexy god damn bike.
>>
Can you guys recommend a bike for tall guys?

I don't ride, but I like to set some bikers a surprise.

Nice one mate, sounds like you're already well into the booking world!

>>23871087
Oh man, those RC8s are fucking awesome, I totally agree with you! Apparently they're insane, don't know about KTM reliability though haha

>>23871134
Probably a naked bike would be best, unless you wanted to go for a dual sport. Only way to really tell is to sit on one.
>>
>>23871137
Well im 200cm tall and i can ride a Yamaha Virago 535/750. Just had to put the (i suck at the english terms) foot pegs 30cm to the front and buy higher bars. The bike rides just fine

*Biking world........
>>
>>23871185
Yeah, it's true bikes can always be modified to help with that, which is why I think it's almost best to pick a bike and then go try it and see haha though that can be disappointing!
>>
>>23871179
I've heard nothing but good things about KTM, I hear they are pretty reliable, but you never know, sometimes people get lemons and there isn't much you can do about it.

How do you like that? I had a buddy who bought a 1300R and he said it was a cool enough bike but the transmission went out after about 600 miles and BMW wouldn't warranty it because it was a wearable component. So he had to replace it out of his own pocket, he said he'd never buy another BMW.
