A lot of them are really neat, and the bead count is great. Typically with 108, they consider there to be 108 emotions and each is a reflection of said emotion. Really good stuff if you're having trouble gripping your worth. Not so much, but definitely Buddhism and the sutras, the Bhagavad Gita and other mythologies from India are really cool, though. Not anymore honestly, most of the venues have shut down due to lack of business. Plenty of bands just not really a scene or crowd for any of them. A lot of the restaurants have country and blues artist come thru but even those take hits from time to time.
There were some open mic night venues that had cool artist come in from all over and they would do all kinds of neat stuff. One of my favs was a jazz/hip hop/sax & perc heavy with tons of samples band called the Stoop kids. This area needs a shot with music

if its any consolation, hagio and taekmiya have both done a lot of stories that arent BL, hagio in particular does a lot of josei, imo their writing is some of the best amoung the other yr 24 writers
plus these two in particular revolutionized comics and the way paneling was done in manga, as much as i respect artists like tezuka i think the affect takemiya an hagio had on manga is was more impressive, totally changed the way it was approached

Early morning update. Good morning everyone! Anyways, I was feeling rather down throughout the night, but I decided I wouldn't come here and whine as per usual and started writing a short story. I wanted to catch a vibe akin to Celine and Dostoyevsky. Keep in mind it's very crude and should be viewed as a draft. The voice of editor and the author are too similar. I'd like to change that. The initial paragraphs are very weak. The portions from he supposed manifesto are somewhat OK, but there are lots of issues with my style and I intend to fix them. Opening will probably be very different from the finished work. I a way, I'm venting my own anger and displeasures. So it's very personal, but I'd like to not sound like the author or the editor, so I'm working on deciding how do I uniquely voice either of them. Dostoyevsky was a master of voicing his characters, and as a note, many translations don't catch that, so it might not be as apparent if you are dealing with a bad translation. I'm still undecided on the ending. Keep in mind this is half way finished lengthwise, and as far as I am aware of my own errors, it isn't even through one tenth of the polishing and editing I'm going to put it through. Any critique, advice and what not are welcome. By the looks of it , I think the finalised edition will be ready by the next weekend. This is my first serious attempt at writing, so please, do understand that it will be crude. Writing is difficult and requires serious commitment, and I am very serious of writing. I can't stand dilettantism and mediocrity, so I'm trying not to fall in either of these categories. My intention is to become skilled at this before I'm 25.

I'd like to retain that sense of energy, as the short story form should be like that. To novels, the short story is as poetry to prose. I have already noticed many such errors, but quite frankly I'm rather tired of writing, despite not writing much at all. There are also terribly awkward sentences that I need to fix so the flow of the words isn't compromised. The editing probably always takes longer than writing out the crude draft. I'm glad I'm very scrutinising of myself.

Here is my favourite short story. This is how a good short story looks for the reference. Easy flowing, concise and with a very well thought structure. Short stories have the benefit of not burning out, as opposed to novels that become very weak at times, even if the author is very good.
