I have a pretty small circle of friends and I rarely party. Studying electrical engineering and focusing on internships and research kept me busy throughout college.
The only difference between high school & middle school me and now is I'm more confident and can pretend/pass off as normal and even cool sometimes.

Hey man that's alright.
All I can tell you is my own experience. I never let myself rely commpletely on others. At the end of the day the only one that will have your back and best interests 100% of the time is you.
You can build confidence. I barely had any starting college! One thing to keep in mind is your brain is still developing and growing.
Take advantage of social functions. It sucks and is awkward at first but I found merit in overcoming my own social anxiety and lack of confidence by essentially a combination of faking it till I made it and just realizing I don't care.
Talk to people in your classes. After overcoming the ice breaking stage things get easier.
But the biggest and best thing that happened to me was transferring colleges after realizing I was depressed where I was freshman year, living in a dorm at my new school, and becoming good friends with the people I lived with in a dorm.
There's an element of luck sure, but try to be open to sociable people and let them help you. My roommate was my biggest help in getting me to get out of my comfort zone.

Throughout High School and even in College, I was pretty social. I smiled as much as I could, talked with people in class, and even went to a few events. Nothing worked. I don't even know what will at this point.
I just want to find some good friends. I'm hopefully going to be attending a school in the fall for students with learning disabilities. I'm really hoping this school can help me grow as a person because lord knows I need some guidance at this point in my life.
