I am depressed as fuck and would love to meet some nice people, I live here for a while now and sometimes Japanese people depress me.

How do you find living there? I stayed for just a bit over 3 months for work and it was depressing the whole time. I couldn't wait to leave.

It's way better than my home country, but there is some downside, of course.
I don't have to complain about the city, just that I am still depressed most night no matter where I am in the world, and Tokyo doesn't help you much in that regard.

I wish I were over there, haven't been since '09 and really miss it. My FB feed has been a nonstop succession of friends being there for the past few years, and it makes me jealous as hell.
I'd love to work over there for a bit, but fuck teaching or working for a Japanese company. My background is in automotive journalism and I wish I could get a gig covering the Japanese car scene for a US magazine, but that's borderline impossible.

Working for a Japanese company is not the hell people want you to believe, it has changed quite a lot in the last 20 years.

What I meant is that sometimes at work stupid stuff is done, and stupid stuff is asked of you, meaningless shit, and if you question everything, you'll end up in trouble with your hierarchy and hating your job/company.
