In other news... I bought some ABU Super Dry Kids and Rearz Safari because I really wanted to try something more premium, especially to help cope with the breakup. Got both packages from Rearz's website for an OK price. The SDKs are very disappointing, and I think Rearz they sold me old stock. The SDK's plastic liner split open on me last night, causing my pants to get wet and almost spilling some of the SAP. They're also not very absorbent, only two wettings and it's time to call it quits. The Rearz are absolutely amazing however, and I wet five or six times without a leak!

I'm abdl - my childhood was great. I wasn't abused, neglected, or molested. Parents loved me.
My dad was an alcoholic and my parents divorced when I was 14, but it's not like it traumatized me or anything. They remained good friends. I suffered from depression as a late teen and got into alcohol and drugs - became an addict for about 13 years. Been sober for over 3. I don't have any mental disorders other than addiction, and I think that was more a result of genetics than anything - addiction is rampant in my family tree. But again, my family was never "dysfunctional" and my childhood was fine.
There are definitely more men into abdl than women - 20 to 1 is a figure I've heard but I don't know how accurate that is. There also seems to be a disproportionally large amount of gay/bi men into this as well. I don't know if this is because gay/bi men are already sexual minorities, therefore finding it easier to embrace fetishes, or if it's something else.
There also seems to be a large amount of abdls with mental disorders, as you said. Depression, anxiety, and autism/aspergers seems common from my experience. Not everyone is like this, of course, but it seems to be more prevalent in the abdl community.
Not as bad as furries, however - furries are all sorts of fucked in the head compared to abdls, believe it or not - although these fetishes sometimes cross over.
This is my experience based on heavy interaction with the abdl/fetish community.

Well to cost it would depend on what type of diaper you have and how you feel about staying in a wet diaper. I use Abu space so 2$ per diaper. I change once in the morning after messing. Once in the afternoon after it is pretty wet. And change again before bed/ after messing at night. So I go through 3-4 diapers a day.
4 x 2$ = 8$ per day x 30 = 240$ a monthly. Now add powder and wipes (since you likely won't shower 3times a day) so think 260-280 a month.
You could go with a cheaper diaper ( store brand or the like) but what you save per diaper cost may be offset by the fact that you may be at 7-9 diapers a day (depending how much you wet and how often).

Oh, that gives me a question for everyone: How often do you guys wear, and how long do you wear your diaps for? I try to make my diaps last as long as possible. The longest I spent in a wet diap was 14 hours IIRC. Had a small rash but also some kind of infection that went away the next time I peed. Seems like eight hours in a wet diap is about the max before that happens. Wish I had monies to wear 24/7 and be able to change like two or three times, fug.
