i was drinking this elicottvile (sp?) blueberry beer earlier. usually im the pbr girl. but that was pretty nice
no pics though bc im not drinking anything anymore <3

what does that taste like
>>
>>23662554
Never heard of that beer before. I'm guessing it was of the wheat variety as it's one of the easier styles to go down compared with pbr. Hey, every moment is an opportunity to take a pic. Could just be the bottle in the trash can with regurgitated food fragments scattered across its label (if it was that terrible).

It's pretty tasty for only being 5.5%. Light on the hops, yet enough to have a little snapshot, this is a dang good beer that could be drank on the patio while watching a Summer sunset. 8.5/10, will buy copious amounts of for future consumption.

Woah, woah, woah. Hold the phone. Cherry flavored Labatt Blue after finishing fifth of Kraken?! What in blue blazes...I detect a hint of sarcasm with that decision, yeah? lol

If Founders is distributed in your area, definitely get some. Speaking of them....

oh no no i meant i finished it like, i had a little bit of kraken left. i did not drink all of that at once lmao. it took me like 2 months to finish it.
yep it was black cherry labatt blue. it was alright actually.
wasnt sarcasm though it led to decent decision making haha YAY FOR BEING DRUNK <3
lol i have no idea if it is. ill be on the look out. you are from wny arent you?
>>
>>23662637

Ah, I read you loud and clear now. Dang, a whole two month period to drink a fifth? I'm guessing you don't hit the hard stuff too often, eh.

Hm...I mean, if I'm really forced to, I'll try to see if I can find some of this Black Cherry Labatts just for the experience. Hey, whatever makes the stars align and clear the air for straight-forward thinking (in this case, drinking fistfuls of shots/drinks), then it's all good! Huzzah!

When you say, "wny" I'm guessing you're talking about West New York? In that case, I am not. I live all the way out in the great plains of Indiana.

I recently found this at the grocery store a few months ago and decided to give it a try. I haven't had any other booze since. This shit is divine. Have to have it in a glass and have to pour hard. It's neat though. The bubbles go downwards after you pour it. It's sort of like a Guinness but it doesn't taste like shit!
>>
>>23663886

That is some good stuff, for sure. Every beer should be poured into a glass, unless it's like Bud Light or a 40 of Olde English.

>>

there's no point , there's basically nothing I'm good at, and the one thing I have at least mediocre skills in (cooking) is quite clearly impossible for me to do professionally. will probably just get some heroin or pills or something with my last paycheck, drink a bunch of booze, and sleep for the last time. my life only ever gets worse, and I really don't want to end up homeless or in prison
>>
>>23665603
>I really don't want to end up homeless

Well, if you don't have some job in line after you quit your current one (that is, if you decide to leave it), you'll definitely end up homeless unless you come into an inheritance or something like that.

Dude, I know how it is as I'm not skilled in just about ANYTHING. The only thing I know a little bit of is beer. I work at a liquor store right now, which is ok since I get to organize/do whatever to the beer section since I've been there so long. But, it pays pretty poorly (I believe I only earned about 20k last year before taxes) and there's practically no benefits. So, there's no way I plan on being there for the rest of my life.

oh man. im still drinking that coffee several hours later lol.
that is some weird flavors for beer. idk much about beer but that would be super interesting to drink. i think like, the most interesting one ive had was prob this banana bread beer. wasnt too bad
>>
>>23670722
Damn, coffee at 2:45am?!

>some weird flavors for beer

Well, the thing is that it's not like drinking liquid pineapple, mango, etc. It's a bit more...subtle than that? If you don't drink beer and tried the Waldo, most likely you won't detect most of the fruit character from it as your palate isn't attuned to detecting such kind things. The more you drink, the more you can dissect the flavors from a beer, if that makes any sense.

For instance, there's a general section of beer called sours (things like Lambic, Flanders Red, American Wild, Gose, Berliner Weisse). At first, the sour and tartness of the beer (depending on which one) will be very forward and you most likely won't be able to taste much else. And so on from there.
>>
>>23670757
yeah that makes sense. it makes me remember when i was 16 and had my first budweiser and it tasted like bread to me and i hated it ha. i still dislike it but its not like just bread anymore.
def makes sense, but its still weird to think of those kind of fruity notes in beer lol.

also yes bc im too lazy to get water for my scratchy throat and i drank this Extremely slowly today lol. then i wonder why i cant sleep.
>>
>>23670766
That's kind of like that. Speaking of bread, there's a style called Doppelbock that has an unique nickname. Back decades and decades ago, monks in Germany wouldn't eat a single thing for certain periods of time (can't remember for how long and why; I think some form of fasting for their lord or something) and would sleep on uncomfortable beds. Since they could still drink, they made a certain beer that tasted like bread. And so, to this day, if you hear someone refer Doppelbock as "liquid bread", you now know why it is nicknamed as such. Not that any of this probably interests you. I just felt like typing that since I'm bored and a few beers in already. hahaa

Eh, you might not be able to sleep, but at least you don't have a scratchy throat. Right?
>>
>>23670787
no that is actually interesting lol. when did you learn you liked beer so much and wanted to learn more about it?
also, totally, im so tired though, its just unfortunate i cant sleep much lol.
>>
>>23670822
Glad that I'm not boring or anything like that. hahaha

Well, before I turned 21, I never drank at parties considering I was never invited to any of them. So, when the 'big day' came, my brother, sister, and brother-in-law took me to a bar to drink for the first time. At the first bar, they let me try 10 beers and I fell in love with two of them (Newcastle Brown and Spaten's Optimator, which funnily enough for this thread is a Doppelbock). After that, I figured I'd expand my mind and palate in the world of beer.

Since by that time I was a regular to a Metal forum, I decided to search to see if there was a beer thread. I found the thread and looked through every page and wrote down every single beer that people seemed to like. Of course, when I went to some local stores with the list, I found out a lot of the beers weren't available in my state. Though, I picked out around 5-6 beers and it basically just grew from there. One of those first beers that I picked out was a Belgian Golden called Duvel and, to this day, I still enjoy from time to time.

There's a lot more I could add, but I guess I'll just save it for another time.

How much sleep did you get last night?
>>
>>23670853
thats pretty awesome. interesting how people get into different things. and odd that you loved beer immediately haha cause i hated it and half my friends that tried it at first also wasnt super fond of it for a long time. im okay with it now, but i know nothing and just drink random stuff but. pbr is life for me as sad as that is aha

i got a few hours of sleep but it was so sporadic. bc i couldnt fall asleep until around 4 or 430am idr. again like today. i also have been suffering from nightmares and thats messing it up a lot too.
>>
>>23670863
How'd you get into drinking (whether it's beer or whatever)?

Hahaha, yeah, it seems that I get into some things that might take others time to get into. For another example, most people have to take their time with getting into something like Death Metal. But, for me, it instantly clicked with me due to liking hardcore punk before finding out about it.

I suppose no matter what it is, it all depends on what you've experienced before ever trying something new out.

Hey, a bullshit beer is always good once in a while. Whenever I'm at shows, I most of the time get a PBR or a High Life.

Ahh, I see. Hopefully you're not experiencing sleep paralysis. I've never gone through it, but from the stories I've read, it sounds terrifying as fuck! Hope your sleep pattern gets better, though.

hmm. i drank beer when i was 16 at my first party and i hated it. so i drank liquor and i was fine with that, but i enjoyed weed more back then. when i was like 18 i was living at a friends house and him + his friends liked to drink a lot so id join in most of the time whenever that was. then, i started dating my ex, who loved drinking a lot so i started drinking more. he also hated weed so i stopped smoking whenever i did (it was super casual). and i got sick of liquor bc expensive + i wasnt looking to get wasted anymore so, i started off wth cider, but i hate applejuice haha, so i switched to coors bc it taste like Nothing (which i hate now)
then tried a few diff things and now i love pbr because its cheap + i do like the taste. whatever taste that is. haha.

also. yeah, i had sleep paralysis once about 2 weeks ago but i was face down in my bed so i didnt see anything. just couldnt move. otherwise i dont really have anything messing up my sleep besides not being able to + nightmares hah. thanks <3

do you work later in the day or something which is why you drink sometimes during the week? i see your threads sometimes, just curious
>>
>>23670912

Hm, that's quite the origin story! Do you smoke weed at all these days? For me, I don't usually do it unless I'm at a friends place and they offer it to me, which isn't too often.

But yeah, drinking some kinds of things can get expensive very fast, especially if you go hard in the paint. lol Have you tried Hamms before?

Damn, I guess you got lucky there with being face down while that happened.

Yup, I usually work 4-5 days a week, from 4pm-12/1am. Honestly, I kind of don't like making these threads as a lot of the times, no one joins in and it basically becomes a one-man drinking thread and becomes depressing as hell. hahaha

For someone who has never had beer, Guiness can be a decent entry way into beer. However, as a Stout in general, it's pretty meh all around and there are tons & tons of other Stouts on the market that are leap and bounds better.
