Language exchange thread.
American English is my native language. Minnesotan dialect.
I took some Central American Spanish (espan~ol / castilian? catilian? in middle school, two years in high school, and, more recently, two years with Rosetta Stone. Basically a 6-year-old's grasp of the language.
I want to learn German to impress a particular girl. Not sure if High and Low German is a real thing—pretty sure one is just Bavarian, but Nazi propaganda doesn't allow you to say so. Right now, all I know is: gutentaag, avetrzeine, gadzuntite, eince, vince, trience, nein, ich bein ien Berliner, and heil Hitler. ...Need a lot of help with that one.

I was raised speaking Dutch/German/American English. But I can barely understand Dutch or German much less speak them. My English is pretty much only fluent because it has to be.
I have a hard time with languages usually. Or learning anything for that matter.
Just out of my own interest if I were smarter I'd like to learn Gaelic or Farsi.

Born and raised in England but Indian family. So I speak English and Panjabi and by extension can understand Hindi and Urdu. Apparently I have qualifications in German but like fuck can I speak it

My English needs a major improvement - poor vocabulary and way off pronunciation.
The language barrier is turning into a real problem.
I speak Polish as native, German and some Spanish.
