So the need for maximized spending during the last 3 months of the financial year is pointless in itself because they have more now than they did before. In my first year of medical school and am fairly ambivalent. The content is not interesting and I have to find a way to financially support myself through 3 years of unpaid clinical rotations and 1 year of high contact hours in lectures/pracs. It's also a challenge to a lot of people's identities. Did well in undergrad, and now like many others, I feel average in this cohort. Suddenly your best is no longer good enough.
I wouldn't mind that if I felt passionate about the career, but I definitely see why they advise you not to get into it for the money. It's not worth it. Almost (but not quite) want to return to my part-time job in childcare and go back to playing mummy. Far less complicated.
