It usually comes up when people talk about either how outrageous it would be for humans to move past capitaliam or when they imply that humans are gaurenteed to overpopulate and destroy the earth. Most people dont consider that in a post capitalistic society(one where we have our mineral resource needs met by space mining(i mean 1 asteroid can contain more metal than has been mined in the last thousand years)) humans will all reach a sort of lower middle class lifestyle and birth rates will decline to a point of stable or even declining population. at which point medical tech will also be to the point where cryo-sleep would be completely viable and even death would be kinda not an issue unless you blow up or something (we can fully regrow bones, organs and muscles today, its just really expensive. the only glaring issue is the life expectency of brains) meaning that even without warp drives human colonization of other star systems is completely possible.
on the flip side capitalism overtakes standard governments and super corps hyper fund those technologies and they're available to their workers when its profitable or to their fellow CEOs.
