Myers- Briggs type thread

Post your type then post types you do/don't get along with

Post pic if you want
>>
I'll start. I'm INFP and I def get along best with INTJ. I really clash with ISTJ/ESTJ
>>
>>23143199
INTJ reporting in.
People who are extremely E___ or extremely _F__ tend to get tiresome in long conversation.
I get along well with INTJ.
>>
>>23143234
Eh, true. People who are too extroverted make me feel like they don't wanna hang out with me. People who are too feeling are just too damn over reactive. I'm an F but not too far down that path. I like INTJ's a lot 'cause they're very engaging but also very reasonable and grounded.
>>
ISTP here, I get along well with ESTPs INTPs ENFPs and INFPs, and basically anybody else who isnt a fuck
>>
>>23143292
I have a friend that's your type. She's smart as hell. Going to school for genetic engineering, but she's a math genius besides that. I respect that.
>>
Being INTP is hell.
>>
>>23143199
Meyers-Briggs is BS, never passes randomized control trials, and fails miserably at predicting behavior. It's a load of pseudo-scientific cold reading BS.

Here's some fun M-B facts!
-The same person often scores differently depending on their emotional state at the time of evalution
-a change in decibel level in a room better predicts behavior than M-B (raise the dB level by 10dB, people are about ~50% less likely to assist others, regardless of M-B)
-Even the creators of the system thought placing historical people into these categories was haphazardly bad science
>>
>>23143316
Hm, well thanks for sharing, I wouldn't have known that. You're probably right, it could be one of those "just vague enough" assessments (like zodiac signs) that us neurotic fucks fall in love with. I definitely see some truth to it, but I don't think it's strict at all.
>>
ISFP
I can't say I've had any issues with other types, I gravitate towards INTPs/INTJs a bit.

ESTPS get OUT! REEEEEE
>>
>>23143199
INTJ. Don't get along with anyone
>>
>>23143316
It's not entirely bullshit, it's just not as great as it's made out to be.
That decibel test is almost meaningless as a mode of comparison between people. Sure, it may be correct, but it is nonetheless useless unless people come equipped with means of measuring the magnitude of sound
Everybody knows that scores are different depending on emotional state. The test measures emotional state.
Did you know that thermometers change reading as temperature changes?

Regardless of statistically significant chances of predicting the behaviour of a subject in a random environment, M-B tests are useful in that they allow people to quickly engage in conversation about the aggregate of dozens of questions.

Get off your high horse

ISFP.
I never ask people what type they are so I have no idea. I suppose the most difficult people for me to connect with are extroverts with little to no introspection or self-awareness.
>>
INTP. I mostly like to be around other intuitive types, they're usually a lot more interesting. Specifically INFPs and INTJs.
>>
>>23143365
pretty much this
>>
INFJ. i am unsure what specific types i get alone with, i tend to mostly keep to myself.

tfw as an ISFP

we'd be compatible

tfw ur probably a guy /:

I am :/
>>
Turbulent ISFP here.
I get along with everyone, which makes sense. I don't have a preference, but extreme E can be a bit too much for me.

Also chaotic neutral.

I'm an INFP. I retest every now and then, but it's always INFP. Not saying you're wron, but I do aree with my personal assessment, and those of my close friends, and it's always seemed pretty accurate for me. Even if it isn't necessarily the best though, I find it to be a fun and interesting conversation starter.
>>
>>23143303
INTP here and I totally agree with you. 100% especially as a grill.
>>
>>23144548

Well as a girl at least you can be that cute, silent, slightly weird girl. As a men even if you are slightly unattractive you are automatically a creep.

Ps seeking fellow INFPs who feel everything as though it were the first and last thing to happen to them everytime.

INTJ master race reporting in
>>
>>23144858
agreed
>>
>>23144788
Pretty as fuck.
>>
>>23144843
Why do you seek INFPs like that? Just curious. I might describe myself like that but in reading it, it doesn't sound the best xD.
>>
>>23144843
I see, you said 'fellow' so you must feel that you act similarly, right? Or am I off course
>>
ENFP here, mostly get along with anyone with strong Ne, ENFPs,ENTPs,INFPs etc
I mostly had really bad relationships and never seem to be on the same level with ISTPs and the whole SJ group

Any ISFPs around here care to share something in relation with ENFPs? Its really odd, but I actually think I never met a person I was sure was ISFP
>>
i'm INTJ, prefer ESFP/ENFP as friends and INFP as lovers.

gotta have those outgoing friends to pull me out of my hole, but prefer the introverted boys to chill with me in it.
>>
>>23144788
You're gorgeous and you look sweet! Also 9/10 cat.
>>
>>23143199
I did a few tests and everything but introversion is basically on the fence, 51/49 stuff.

Have I unlocked the neutral route?
>>
>>23144899
I'd say it is a blessing and a curse, it's good to encourage creativity since you experience things intensely but it hurts and is overwhelming. Nice to be understood from time to time though it's not necessary.
>>
intj here. I pretty much don't like anyone.
>>
>>23145061
I get it, most people find me to be a bit hard to deal with, honestly. Imho it makes me way more dramatic than most guys, which isn't the best socially, but somehow I still enjoy being in touch with the things around me, it seems like no one else really is.
>>
>>23145172
Welp. I'm too intense for most people too anon. Especially in love I'm creepy and want to become one with a partner, write them poetry everyday, serenade them with my flute, make them little gifts, cook for them, clean them, worship them. Lol.
>>
>>23145034
True neutral, my friend. True neutral.
>>
>>23145226
I can understand the idea, I've always been very close to my partners, not overly clingy, but I really prefer to spend all day with them if I can. Also, I'm sure your poetry and flute serenades are sweet :#
>>
>>23145226
I might be jumping the gun a bit here, but my Skype is Golden.Ligra if you want to chat some more. I don't really lurk for very long on 4chan but you seem like you'd be cool to talk to.
>>
>>23143406
Myers-Briggs is about as reliable as astrology, it just has more of a psuedo-scientific sheen to it. Hell, this isn't even something you have to go and study psychology to point out - it's prominent on the wikipedia page for it:

"Psychometric specialist Robert Hogan wrote that "Most personality psychologists regard the MBTI as little more than an elaborate Chinese fortune cookie..."[45]"

It's bullshit. I mean, if people want to treat it as a fun little diversion, fine, same with astrology, but don't pretend that it's validity hasn't been ripped to shreds.

>>23144361
That's the nature of the beast; it's the same that if you read aloud an astrological horoscope to a room, everyone in that room will be able to find ways to make it reflective of them.
>>
Very typical INFP here, looking to know other INFP's and their experiences in life. I've never met another INFP in real life, so this is the best I can get. Why are we so rare?
>>
Enfp- describes me almost perfectly. Seems like we have the highest chance of being disorganized and dysfunctional but I enjoy it.
>>
ENTJ reporting in.

I enjoy time with my INTJ cousins when I need to take a step back for a second.

I don't have time for S or F's. I can tolerate P's, but not on a 24/7 basis.
>>
ESTP here. If you read the description of one I'm very typical right down to the being successful in sales part. I get along with pretty much anybody that isn't a dumbass or argumentative for the sake of being argumentative.
>>
ENFP reporting in!
I get along with most people, but I also try to only talk to people I find somewhat intelligent :v
>>
ISTJ...I don't like people who are always happy and positive.

>>
>>23146390
I wouldn't say we're so rare, I have a couple of close friends who are INFP, and honestly, I think there are some nuances that make INFPs not totally compatible with each other. I think it's just that our values are so set in stone, that if we happen to have opposing morals then we sorta see it as a threat. It's a part of being overly altruistic and idealistic. I guess if you have the same values you'd get along, but other than that you're sorta gonna clash.
>>
INFJ reporting in.
I'm not sure which types I get along with most, personally.
