To be fair, I've known my best friend since we were in middle school, and even today when I'm a few credits short of my AA degree I don't remember when his birthday is.
I don't quite undersand the point of making a big deal of birthdays, I haven't celebrated mine since I was a kid (which is what I think most holidays are for, children and making good childhood memories) my bf found it odd at first but not he is pretty happy about it. It is just another day, don't fret OP life can offer more.
