I think I've already found that opportunity. I just recently moved from what I guess I can swallow my pride and call being a NEET. I wasn't working or in school. I would still go out with friends but being broke and refusing handouts I was unable to really enjoy it.
I recently got a decent paying job at a warehouse and now my confidence and overall well-being is through the roof, although my issues with depression and anxiety linger in the back of mind.
I think that opportunity is just growing up and finally achieving self-sufficiency. I certainly have the confidence to believe I will swim but there will always be that "what if" that will hopefully never become more than me simply cautioning myself not to get my hopes up.
My newfound confidence has allowed me to greet obstacles with optimism or sarcastic pessimism. It does feel great to rarely be genuinely negative about everything.
I think I'm definitely on a good path.
