a little bit of advice from a little experience, in no particular order.
they will likely not accept you at first. also they mostly don't want their kid to be openly gay because it's not manly and embarrassing. sometimes they are concerned with whether or not you will have children or a normal family(many gays do not).
try to understand that it is difficult for them. give them time and they will come around. try not to be too selfish be reasonable. don't go in expecting drama or immediate acceptance.
if you are a woman nobody cares so just be cool.

Not necessarily true. My story really isn't unique. Came out to my parents as being a lesbian when I was 17 and was thrown out of the house. Haven't reconciled with them for 25 years.
best advice I can give is to expect the worst. Have a safe place to live for a while. Have money saved and/or a job to support yourself for a while. Have a go-bag packed and ready if you need to leave the house immediately.
