The elephant in the (USA) room: What is everyone eating today?
>>
I am having Rouladen, SpƤtzle, Green bean casserole and Apple pie
>>
>>22853129
Nothing cause my only family here is dead as of a few months ago and I have no friends.

Otherwise honey ham, biscuits, green bean casserole, Mac n cheese and pumpkin pie
>>
>>22853154
What? You said nothing then describe what you're eating? Are you an idiot?
>>
>>22853158
Are you?
'Otherwise' in this context clearly conveys what I would be eating were this not the case. L2 reading comprehension ESL-chan

I'm going to work at 3. So... I think I've got a frozen pizza in the freezer for lunch.

Yay, America and Retail.

Fuck you all. You did this.
>>
>>22853193
You should've said "Otherwise I would be eating"

What are context clues. English is a grammatically ambiguous language for this very reason. Twat

Preach. Fuck this commercialism. Having to work thanksgiving last year is part of the reason I am exiting the mainstream economy. I may go protest black Friday.
>>
>>22853375

Don't even leave the house Friday anon, it's too fucking dangerous out there.
>>
>>22853380
Im working but not in retail so I feel you pain. I worked one Black Friday never again
>>
>>22853382

I've never worked a black friday in retail. I did security one year for Black Friday as a security guard in a Diesel Jean store. I had to stand outside controlling the, no joke, velvet rope because we had to control how many people came and went from the store.

I'm 6'1. By the end of the day there was a pile of denim taller than me.

I watched an employee vainly trying to fold jeans, have that pair of jeans yanked off their folding table, size checked, then tossed over shoulder.

The look in that employee's eyes was truly murderous.

Never again.

Retail is soul crushing.
>>
>>22853405
Can confirm retail killed every virtue or ounce of humanity I've ever possessed
>>
>>22853407
Don't all jobs that involve "customer" service.
>>
>>22853430
Nah working with food and people is some of the most rewarding work I've done. Restaurant or otherwise
>>
>>22853430
I think retail is particularly traumatizing. One sees behind the curtain to see how worthless their products are then have to find the fortitude in themselves to lie to someone and tell them how that cannot live with X.
>>
>>22853439
Well maybe it's just my area filled with dumbfucks.
>>
>>22853443
I used to work at Staples........
>>
>>22853449
Teavana, was the worst. So much bullshit and such a competitive cut-throat work place.
>>
>>22853465
Damn shame.
>>
I work at a small organic-recycled gift store in California. This is the first black friday I'll be working. I'm scared.
>>
>>22853551
Run. But be happy you don't work at WAL-MART.
>>
>>22853551
If you aren't in a major retail area, it shouldn't be a problem. Everyone is going to the big box stores and mall.
>>
I do all the cooking, and this year it's pie (pumpkin, Apple, and pecan), salad, turkey, mashed potatoes, twice baked sweet potatoes, green bean bake, cranberry+orange relish, two kinds of stuffing, Mac n cheese, rolls, and two kinds of gravy

I dunno how much I'll actually eat though. I hate gravy and turkey. can't fucking fathom why anyone enjoys the green bean bake
>>
Whatever the hospital is serving I guess
>>
>>22853597
I do the cooking too. After making a big meal, tasting everything as it goes and smelling it all day, I just want a sandwich.
>>
>>22853607
Patient or do you work there?
>>
>>22853614
pretty much. last year I just ate stuffing since it's the best part. then I pig out on the leftovers the next day
>>
>>22853634
Leftovers are the bomb. Last year for Christmas I made my first goose. That was the stuff...
>>
>>22853617
I work in pharmacy there. Got the short straw this year so I work today, Christmas eve/day and NYE/day.

I guess its not so bad since I'm alone, but this part of the year kind of sucks for me
>>
>>22854241
It could always be worse. Thanksgiving 2004 I flew back to Iraq.
