Hey /soc/. I know this post is going to look extremely pathetic, but I don't care how dumb I look in this situation. Recently, there have been a lot of the type of threads where you are supposed to fill this template out, post it, and discuss yourself with others.
Four or five days ago I encountered a lady on here that I thought was really interesting, and who I would love to get to know. I posted something to her and she responded favorably, and then asked where my template was. I was on my phone at the time so I just typed out a bunch of facts about me, but by the time I posted it she was gone.
The next day (three days ago) there was another thread with the same theme. By a stroke of fortune, she was in that thread but she was really tired and was about to go to sleep. (It was 0645 Eastern Daylight Time - U.S.)
I don't want to let her slip away without knowing for sure if she is interested in talking with me. I am 32 years old, a USMC Veteran with 3 Combat Tours and an Honorable Discharge, I currently work in IT for a salary of just over 65K/yr, 5' 10" Brown Hair Blue Eyes, Powerlifter build but could afford to lose some weight, and I have a lot of the same interests that she does.
I posted her submission to the thread in the OP image.
Sage, call me a fag, a loser, a beta, to kill myself....I don't mind. It's worth it to have a chance to speak with her again. Thank you for listening.
I cut and pasted the thread I made on /b/ earlier tonight. I am putting it here because one of the anons told me to try here. Thank you for reading.

Hello reddit.
Bumping with boobs
>>22769856
Not reddit, nigger. I haven't been on reddit since 2011.
>>22769856
What's your story anyway? Do I disgust you? Does my vain attempt at finding a woman who allowed me to feel something besides hatred and despair make you uncomfortable? What is it? Maybe we can work through it together.
Bump
Bump again
I am going to let this thread die. I am sorry for taking up one of your thread spots.

Happy veteran's day, comrade. To you, my cousin's husband, and my deceased grandpa. He was an army man. GI Joe during the battle of the Bulge (*his name actually was Joe, go figure, lol*)
>>22770867
Hey man! I don't mean any offense if you don't believe in God, but I would like to say God Bless your Grandfather. He was a tough son of a bitch...all of those guys back then were more hardcore than today. Thank you for the kind words
>>22770873
You don't offend me. I respect most beliefs (*because some of the shit I hear out there sounds like absolute shit, Scientology being one*) and as for myself? I am hoping beyond all hope there is a divine being or maybe 2 and an afterlife but I am quite doubtful of it and that's what makes me frightened of death, ut it's that fear that keeps me alive and on my toes until I do. My grandpa saw the beginning of the cold war in the eyes of the Ruskies glaring at him on the other side of the Rhine River. He said he was surprised to hear his CO's talking as if shit might go down saying "If fired upon, return fire immediately" He told me with a look of seriousness in his eyes saying "Right after we had won the war, we were ready to fight another" The thought seemed like it might have frightened him at the time.
>>22770893
Not to say he was scared of the Russians, but how another world war might ravage the entire planet.
>>22770893
I understand and appreciate the gravity of what you are saying. So many people on 4chan dismiss troops as welfare queens, degenerates, and other terrible things.
I can't explain how it felt in Iraq and Afghanistan knowing that there are human beings less than 100 yards away from you that would literally kill themselves just to have a chance at hurting you. I looked plenty of them in the eye and I have never known such hatred. Its surreal.
I would also like to say to the anons that don't understand PTSD -- the way most legit cases form is from repeated situations where the affected person doesn't think they are going to die; they KNOW they are going to die! If you know you are going to die a certain amount of times and actually survive... It really really really fucks you up. That is what real combat PTSD is from.
I can taste the fear your grandfather felt. Did he have enough ammunition? Did he send a last letter home saying goodbye? Fuck man...your grandpa was more of a man than I am.
Also, in regards to your statement, people who's lives are constantly in danger WILL find something to believe in. I have never witnessed Richard Dawkins provide hope to a fellow Marine. Not even once.

>I can taste the fear your grandfather felt.
It was more of an "Oh shit" expression when he told it but I imagine he was a bit more shocked to hear it as a 20 something year old solider..He was kinda chuckling at the fact that it could of happened too as if "hehe, we sure dodged a bullet" Also yeah, I think that maybe one day I'll find a solid believe, but for now I'm hoping somehow I'll be able to transcend to Necal state and maybe just maybe see the face of Thoth, Jesus and Buddha, the great immortals of their time. Such wisdom would leave me absolutely astonished
>>22770949
If not than fuck me, I'm using any scientific means possible to prolong my life span, lol
>>22770949
I believe that Jesus Christ allowed Himself to be crucified for our sins, but I also believe that Buddhism has hundreds of extremely valuable teachings and lessons.
Let me ask you this: What do you really truly KNOW that you have seen with your own eyes? If you reflect hard enough on that question, you will eventually come to the realization that modern science is exactly like a religion. People are told "facts" that echo from the halls of academia.... And they follow them like a religion! They even defend their beliefs with the zeal of a crusader!
I am not saying science is a lie. I am saying that science is mankind's best effort to decipher and understand what God has already put to action.
I am not trying to convert you to any religion. I do not want your money. I do, however, want to inspire thought within yourself to see that death is not to be feared. Do you understand?
