I had already done online research into the best book and the best option seemed to be a $14 Spivak.
Various anons informed me that the text was high quality but I'd have to be autistic if it were my first time looking into calculus.

Working on something for work (in my own time as a bit of a project) and I'm stuck with an equation I need to reverse for working out wages.
The formulas we're provided with will calculate tax on a gross amount, which is withheld and the employees get paid the net amount after tax. I want to work it backwards.
We're given the following formula

>a=gross
>x= Coefficient x
>b= Coefficient b
>n= net
I'm bloody hopeless at math and even worse with algebra so the closest I've come is

Given that I know what X and B are for that particular figure, I want to be able to figure out the tax on Net.
