What are some interesting books about the multiverse theory/quantum physics?

I've been looking for a good textbook for control theory and systems engineering. Would you happen to have any recommendations, /sci?

I feel your pain. The only one I have is by Pearson and that one is horrible.
Here's an introductory book that I found decent http://www.cds.caltech.edu/~murray/books/AM05/pdf/am08-complete_30Aug11.pdf
Last October I visited the flooded basements of Jupiter Factory in Pripyat, Chernobyl. There were some radioactive materials, so im inviting you to watch this movie (with subtitles)

What do you think about this image?

It make me think, "I wonder if this png can be optimized?"

Here you go 1/3rd of the size.

Hey guys ill be starting to study mechanical engineering next month and i was wondering what math courses or how i can get better at math so i wont have trouble at school? what courses or what techniques do you guys use? thanks in advance
I'm in my second semester of mechanical engineering. You need as much math as you can manage, through some good calculuses. I would recommend using Khan Academy to help you at least freshen up and get solid fundamentals.
Nice ass btw
>>7791953
>as much math as you can manage
>Khan Academy
That's engineers for you folks.
>Nice ass btw
Nice priorities fapping to pictures instead of learning maths.
>>7791962
Well yeah... I'm not OP, nor an engineer, but all of my maths were prereqs for physical chem/biochem, pharmacokinetics, and a physics minor. If you're not studying maths specifically, you really need to just pass the pure maths. The applied math in engineering and science is focused so narrowly. After completing the Calculus and Diff Eq/lin alg (math babby here), the math I do now you could train a child to do by running the same processes over and over.
i mixed lime sulfur with vinegar. did i poison myslef?
Depends on the environment you're in and how hard you try to inhale whatever fumes are emitted
>>7791811
it wasnt well ventilated but i tucked my nose inside my sweatshirt and keep away from it. the ph of the lime sulfur was around 9.5 and i brought it down to 6.8 with vinegar. i wore gloves
>>7791811
the reason why i ask if its poisonous is because the mixture was at first a milky color. When i checked it today it turned clear and little bubbles formed alongside my spray bottle.
Hello,
Does anyone's university have a subscription to Annals of Internal Medicine by any chance?
I am looking for this paper: http://www.annals.org/article.aspx?volume=136&issue=2&page=89
But unfortunately my university doesn't have a subscription to this journal.
Would be very thankful for any help

Many thanks good sir!
Hey /sci/
I bought this years ago at a rock shop. I believe it is some kind of tooth of some prehistoric mammal.
Can you help me identify what it might be?
I'm trying to sell it, and need some info to go along with it.
Thanks

bro thats a stick
is this worth bringing up to the attention of my teacher? not really homework help since I know the right answer but this is the first time I think webassign actually has the wrong answer.
>>7791735
I really don't know how anyone who cares could use any uncomprehensive input system to evaluate students.
>>7791745
so do you think my teacher just won't give a fuck?
Did I break math?
>>7791713
that epic feel when you draw a line i units long
>>7791713
You cannot of a length of "i". Using the isomorphism [math] \mathbb{C} \cong {\mathbb{R}^2} [/math] you could roughly equate [math]i[/math] with the 2-tuple [math]\left( {\begin{array}{*{20}{c}}
0 \\
1
\end{array}} \right)[/math]. This is not a quantity that you can define as a length. The best you could do is a define as a length as the modulus of i, which is just 1.

Enjoy your NEET life.
My dream is to one day be so attractive/muscular that people will try and learn some maths trick or novelty in order to get a pretext for conversation with me, and then maybe they will actually start enjoying maths for real and have their life improved by it.
that would be so cool
What is your dream, /sci/?
You know this board is for science and math right ?
>>7791709
i thought it was for anime watching faggots who pretend to be good at math
>>7791702
>people will try and learn some maths trick or novelty in order to get a pretext for conversation with me
Or they will just talk about your attractiveness/muscularity?
You are not very good at this.
Does this make sense or does it have holes in it?
Trying to find a nice method to answer a lot of questions very formulaicly.
>>7791583
how about at the midpoint on each side? that brings up the number of points to 19.
>>7791607
Oh ofc, I forgot that. Whoops.
So I guess you do something similar to step 3 but at the beginning, just to make sure that kind of thing doesnt happen.
updated.
but what im really interested in isnt whether this works for this particular case, but whether the method would work for eveyr single question of the type:
"Fit X points into Y shape such that no two points are less than Z cm apart"
Hi /sci/
I'm not trying to make a boastful thread (you all will put me to shame anyway) but I saw this site (pic related) that correlates various tests with levels of intelligence. I've only the ACT once and I got a 32 first try without studying (yes, not hard, whatever). I'm kind of a savant with geography and I'd love to do something related to that. I'm transferring schools next year (I'm 18) to pursue geography. Is this a good idea? I realize GIS is the hot topic nowadays and I'd likely get into it more (I already have QGIS installed,...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
What do you mean by pursuing geography? As a civ. engineer? As an analyst?
I hope you're trolling kid
let this thread be proof that intelligence is completely wasted on those people without the will to be a creator in the desert that is life.
>what is my skillset
hahahahahahahahah
Assuming you don't mind travel, I would recommend geology. It deals with geography and then masses more on top of it. Whether you are analysing core samples or taking on the detective-like field work to ascertain historical geological activity, you will be dealing with an awful lot of geography. So I would recommend that.
