Soooooooo if i was using some online software. how would i go about copying said software? i am paying to use it bu tit is going to be taken down. how would i duplicate it?

You can't.

The software is run on their computers, not yours, and then supplied to you through the website. Your computer has no access to the program itself unless you actually go and hack into their server.

>Soooooooo
stop talking like a valley girl
>>
>>7796993
It's stored on their server. If you can get the admin right to access their source/packages you can clone it to your computer.
However, you are probably not able to do so because it is not easy.
>>
FUCK!!! how would i go about accessing their servers remotely

>Combinatorics, Graph Theory, Number Theory, Num Analysis, DIFFERENTIAL GEOMETRY, PROBABILITY, ALL BEFORE ANALYSIS THIS IS RETARDED HOLY SHIT

First intro to proofs (How to Prove it, a Structured Approach), Linear Algebra (Hoffman&Kunze) and Real Analysis (Terence Tao I & II) together are core. Then abstract algebra (Rotman's first course or Artin's classic), then post again asking for advice.

Also, you can do combinatorics right after proofs. Otherwise, I agree. Calculus is a half-asses substitute for the full thing.

Hey, /sci/.

Been conducting some experiments in my shed out of interest, looking at how the surface tension of water changes against temperature. This is done by method of a propane torch to warm a beaker of water which is then moved into a squidgy pipette, dripped drop by drop into a cup on some scales (20 times), and then the resulting mass is weighed. I'm using the drop weight method, basically.

Looking online, it seems that the surface tension is supposed to decrease as temperature increases however my results obtained via the aforementioned method show...

>Does /sci/ have any idea what could be causing this effect?

A very wrong procedure. You're not accounting for heat transfer, I assume?
>>
>>7797064
Temperature is monitored in the heated beaker via a thermometer. I'm doing the pipette transfer pretty quickly so I'm taking losses due to heat to be negligible.

Im writing an app to read qr-like codes. Each code has a couple of identification points, so app can:
1. find em in the photo
2. check how their positions are different from original structure
3. calculate rotation, translation, scale
4. restore whole code by untransforming
5. read the data lying between id points

Its all simple as long, as the photo is taken perpendicularly. When the "projection" is tilted from the vertical by a few degrees the algorithm dramatically loses efficiency.

The question is: what operation/matrix do I need to...

>3. calculate rotation, translation, scale

These (+ shearing) are just affine transformations. You need a projective transformation.

>5. read the data lying between id points

I hope you're using bicubic/bilinear interpolation and not nearest neighbor.
>>
Many thanks!

Think I'll get away without interpolation. I don't expect big angles and app is meant only to read binary sequences basing on areas' average brightness, so single pixels shouldn't be crucial. Still a very valueable nice!

What do you mean by that?

That's ok. As a tutor you are there for two reasons only
>make sure they actually do the work
>be on call to explain things they dont get as needed
>>

It´s not necessary but try to engage your students. It is really easier whe you are with just one of them. makes the whole thing more enjoyable.
>>
I think you'll remember more from the course when they bring up the topics they're having trouble with. Worst case scenario, if you don't remember much, ask for them to explain how much they know of the topic, or how they would try to approach the problem.

It has two purposes: gets them to think on their own and explain their approach, and gives you a chance to remember from the course.

Explain gravity.

Oh... Y-you can't?

Why does this board even exist if you people have no clue about such an obvious phenomenon save for some very basic observations of its effects.

It's very possible the the human brain has achieved the limits of abstract thought necessary to crack the secrets of gravity. We may be physiologically incapable of grasping these things, just like a dog will never be able to comprehend calculus, no matter how long you train it.

Are the ego maniacs on here willing to admit such a possibility?

is mathematics man-made or has it always been there waiting for us to discover? we have our own numbers, letters, words and symbols, but before even languages existed, five fingers were still five fingers, even if the word "five" was not invented yet.
but does that really change the truth? and which one is the truth?
if you think it's natural, then do you think the entire concept is natural or only the basics like two plus two? we also have the complicated side of mathematics that require tons of numbers, letters, equations (...)
crazy stuff that came...

Why is /sci/ so opposed to discussing out of the ordinary stuff? Isn't that the shit that makes people ask more questions and investigate more? Instead, people often say "X can probably be explained by Y, case closed, no need for further investigation. What, you still ask? go to /x/."

because people prefer to make conjectures about thing they know something about, instead of talking out of their ass like you do, and you expect everybody to do.

because threads starting with "what if" are followed by baseless claims that hold zero scientific background or followed by the OP asking people to disprove his retarded ideas where he spams "we cant know nuthin" and changing goalposts to keep his autistic thread going on.

Is the fact that most people are right handed a result of biology or culture? Or both?

Could it be because those language regions are found in the left hemisphere?

A better question is, why can't people naturally use both hands equally effective ? It's not like we can walk so well with one foot but just keep dragging the other one.
>>
>>7797282
Probably just a lack of practice. There's really not much point learning to use both hands equally well at difficult fine motor tasks, and dedicating the time and neurons to such a feat would be costly.
>>
>>7797285
But even though you're not tought to use a certain hand, babies tend to use one hand for holding objects or pointing at stuff or scratching. Just as people tend to use a certain foot when kicking a football or jumping while running.
