So, I saw this graph of 10 vertices. I then thought to myself "Huh, no matter how you arrange these 10 vertex there will always be at least one place where two edges cross".

But this thought has now been bothering me all day. My issue being I am pretty damn certain this is true but have no way to write a formal math proof. So how could I go about doing that so I can turn my hand waving intuitive nonsense into something more substantial.

So the simplest way would be to find a kuratowski subgraph inside the graph.

Math major here. What makes my bachelors in math equal, or at least worth the same as any other math undergrad around the nation (USA)? I mean does it even matter the courses that I am taking? Do people that want me for their job give 2 shits about my degree, or that’s just fucking lies? I want to work somewhere that involves applied math or at least at a bank. For example here a list of math courses I taken so far:
Probability (not statistics each course is separate, junior course)
Intro to PDE (junior course)
ODE (junior course)
Abstract Algebra (junior course)...

Well, just because you see a pattern doesn't prove anything. You have to mathematically prove that this pattern holds, like for example saying the Euler Mascheroni constant is irrational based on the premise that there is no pattern would never be accepted, so the reverse shouldn't either. However, there is nothing wrong with contributing to the solution by saying you've noticed a pattern and others should look into it if you can't actually prove the existence of a rule mathematically on your own....

it makes sense. assume this is a mathematical pattern that describes a process in a less pure branch of science and the magnitude of the rate of change in the pattern is the important part of it. however when reduced to a sequence it is very simple, that is the entire sequence can be accurately predicted and easily verified from the first 2 terms.

If you want to make an immediate difference then why don't you get involved in UAV research? I have and twice already I've worked on concepts that after searching Google for originality I could only find it in some guy's PhD thesis done only a few years ago. Not only that but my research always came to the same conclusion as theirs meaning my methods were valid. After the initial euphoria at believing myself to be a super genius I realized that it's really because the field is a) new and b) small-scale meaning that I can do the same thing at home that guys...

I agree. Much can be learned and figured out in the first decades of a new technology. Breakthroughs happen so fast that they often happen in many places at the same time. There's actually a plane that uses some of the methods you are talking about. It essentially has 2 loops, one on each side of the plane where normal wings are usually. It makes it much more compact. That one is better than the full loop across the entire plane because it helps eliminate vortex drag.
