Is there anything algorithmic that makes Tay special? All discussion about the AI's actual mechanism has been buried by popsci spam calling it a cleverbot-tier chatbot or a self-aware general intelligence, none of these people know what a markov model or a neural net is. It's surprisingly hard to find a source where i can get the details straight.
Other than the shitposting, what did microsoft do here that was new or interesting? Recurrent neural networks are obviously nothing new.

Why does the universe have to come from anything? I mean, considering how insignificant we are and how little we can physically grasp about our universe, why can't the universe just be? Why does it have to have a source just because we say it does

Serious people don't say that it has to have a source. It isn't proven that it has one, it isn't proven that it doesn't.
The fact that some people want to believe that it has an origin comes from either life experience and common sense bias, or from a cultural idea that things must have been created in order to exist. I hear some asian cultures don't see things that way.

Awhile ago when I was showering I had left my phone in my room so I was just alone to think lol and I sorta came to my own personal conclusion of this;
When you try really hard you fail, with light there's dark, with life there's death and I kinda realized everything is basically an opposite, and I thought deeper about it and kinda thought, the opposite of everything is nothing and that's how I rationalize believing the universe came from nothing because the like I said a moment ago, the opposite of everything is nothing.

I know that the number of subsets of a set containing n elements is 2^n. But what is the maximum number of sets that can be created from these elements that none of them are a subset of another?
e.g I don't want to count set {1,2} if I count set {1,2,3}

Mutations happen constantly, each individual human probably has quite a few mutations in their unique DNA. Most of the time this results in no noticeable change. Sometimes it results in decreased fitness or death. Very rarely will a mutation actually create a benefit and improve fitness.

Why even bother? You don't really need it to study maths, and it's much less efficient than studying maths. They should abolish maths in high schools, or do it rigorously. The way it is now it's just a time-consuming clusterfuck that gives maths-interested people all the wrong impressions.
