Why is this happening /sci/?
Is it a bad thing or not?
Will any1 dare to say that we should put in place afirmative action for white men?
Do they say what """degree""" will they most likely choose? I ain't givin them views.
but only 25% as likely to graduate

>Why is this happening /sci/?
Because universities are creating more and more useless degrees like "gender studies", "feminist history", "queer studies", "LGBT science", "cultural marxism".
>Is it a bad thing or not?
For whom?
>proof by contradiction
like mormons ?
What's the problem with that?
>>8071276
It's poor form and 99 times out of 100, it's not really a proof by contradiction and the person should rewrite it more clearly. An obsession with proof by contradiction is the surest way to spot the kid who just passed his intro to proofs course.
I was just debating with an anti-Darwinism person (note, he's not religious) and I can't really answer this question
>If Darwin's evolution theory is real, then why is there no concrete proof on this?
What he is trying to say is that Evolution theory is forever a theory without any real proof rather than "belief". It was an hindrance for other scientists to find new theories for the origin of species.
Even Richard Dawkins had trouble answering this question.
tl;dr Evolution theory is dead and we need...

You're a fucking idiot. Take some advice. Don't get so lost in your pursuit of knowledge, that you blind yourself from the very knowledge you seek.
> Evolution theory is forever a theory without any real proof rather than "belief"
But there is proof for mutations and survival of the fittest already...
> Even Richard Dawkins had trouble answering this question.
Not having all answers doesn't change the fact that evolution is the one and only theory that makes most sense.

Thanks for the advice but I just want to get more knowledge in this limited lifetime.
I get lost all the times reading books back to back.
Sometimes you are just lost in the details and you missed some trivial point right in front of you.

What does /sci/ think about the feasibility of Agri Towers? Single or mixed use skyscrapers that are dedicated to hydroponic agricultural production? It would allow year round production of food in any climate without the use of pesticides. Also they could be fully integrated into urban areas, so agricultural workers could live in cities.
The only problem I can think is that its simply more expensive than land, but as population expands land becomes more and more expensive.
>>8071266
Nature always creates the most effective system. If you want optimal production, follow nature's design. I've never seen nature flowing water upstream to water vegetables. Therefore, this is not energetically efficient.

4chan is contrarian at heart, so because reddit likes him, 4chan dislikes him automatically, or at least most of 4chan. Most people who post about fedoras or Dawkins have no idea about what he says, have never read any of his works and automatically jump on the bandwagon to dismiss him, because fedoras and reddit (this is a common occurence with creationfags). That said, that does NOT make his ideas and views automatically valid.

I figure this is the appropriate board to have a discussion about this topic. I would post on /b/, but it would inevitably devolve into a name-calling shitfest of "uncut-fags vs cut-fags". I've done some searching around for research papers and studies on the internet, and I've found mixed results about the benefits and harms of infant circumcision.
Primary claims, that I have seen, for benefits have been as follows
1: Circumcision reduces the chances of transmission of the HIV/AIDS virus, because the glans and the inner foreskin are exposed...

Choose partners wisely, don't be the whore of bablyon, don't fuck impoverised minorites, prostitutes or engage in gay sex and HIV/AIDS is a lol-tier meme you don't have to worry about. If you are gay, use protection religiously.

I agree with you for the most part, although from what I've read it seems possible and not very difficult to treat most cases of phimosis with non-surgical methods, such as stretching the foreskin gently or using a medical ointment. So I think even for phimosis, circumcision would not be necessary a vast majority of the time.

Uncut here, every woman I've been with says it is better for hand jobs and looks fine when hard. Only problem they've had is the anteater look when I'm limp. For hygiene, I don't fuck people with AIDS since I don't live in Africa, I wash down there every day so smell/smegma/infection is not a problem, and I've never had cancer due to dick skin, surprisingly enough. Basically, uncut is prime for sex unless you have erectile dysfunction.
What is the scientific consensus on alcohol and babies? "Some doctors recommend that you completely avoid alcohol when you’re expecting; others say that occasional light drinking is unlikely to harm your baby.'
What does /sci/ think? This is because New York made drinking while pregnant a human right. Did they make the right move?
http://bigstory.ap.org/00f36eefd6d74852b7165cdea0334068
New York just made it a crime to refuse to give a pregnant woman alcohol.

So a pregnant 21 year old has the right to poison her baby, but a non-pregnant 20 year old needs to be protected from the evils of one beer?

>New York just made it a crime to refuse to give a pregnant woman alcohol
As it should be. Women would be allowed to make their own decisions because their happiness and liberty is more important than that of a fetal parasite. This is more of a political issue.
Ultimately though the science is inconclusive and shaky. There's no guaruntee a regular alcohol drinker will give birth to a fetal alcohol syndrome baby, just like smoking while pregnant is a mostly harmless action....

Hello /sci/
If you could transfer your mind into a computer network and become immortal why would you not do it?
Why do you care for the meat you are in?
you are in a computer network
No because it won't work because of the soul
If you disagree with me I'll just post ugly men wearing fedoras

What is it going to be like to use the internet on Mars?

Taking this even further, how would an interstellar civilization communicate with and coordinate itself?
Nobody is ever gonna use the internet on mars.
