I don't know what's finally inspired me to write this, but I strongly encourage everyone ITT to listen to the radiolab episode called "KPoparazzi".
It goes into some depth about the nature of K Pop music, specifically about how it's all about image. K Pop bands are literally creations of the music industry, and nobody in Korea seems to care. But they use interesting tactics like enforcing policies of "singlehood" with K Pop starlets, to keep the impression that they are "available".
Everyone in this thread who lusts after K Pop idols is a complete and utter boob, being manipulated by the system. You're all fools. If you listen to KPop unironically, you're willfully ingesting corporate excrement meant only to hold your attention incidentally while you masturbate to picture of the starlets.
