I don't understand what a quote unquote "touhou" is.
I don't understand why anime needs 37 million different names and sub-classifications for every tiny little fetish or niche or whatever.
Seriously. Why. It's not a question.
It's like sub-genres for certain metal or indie music. They're clearly just made up by a half dozen people in order to make themselves feel more "specialized" and it's no different for anime nerds. They want their sub section of anime to feel highly specialized or stylized and they want 9 billion different unnecessary codewords to describe mundane things like "girl in a dress" or "upset girl."
It's very unfortunate.
