Every post number will be there for exactly one post.
If a thread dies, all post numbers die, too.
There will never be a post with the same number again. At least not on this board.
Of course this makes every post unique and special but doesn't it also make you a little sad because it reminds you how life is basically the same?
Every moment in your life is like a post in a thread with a unique number.
You are the thread. And when you die every unique moment of your life will die with you.
If you're lucky somebody will remember you for some time.
But in the end everything amounts to nothing because everything that ever existed will never come back in the exact way it was.
