Eden was born in Haifa, already one of the most secular cities in Israel, and the last update I've found of her shows she's currently living in Tel-Aviv, a city so liberal it's often compared to Amsterdam or San Francisco. Israel is a funny case because on the one hand there are cities so religious that a woman walking around wearing pants is danger of being stoned, but on the other hand there are cities like Tel-Aviv which have a world famous LGBT scene and nightclubs and strip clubs everywhere.

It's a lot drastic than >>16294869 is making it sound. At the moment, I don't think there are "cities" in Israel which are that religious. There are certainly NEIGHBORHOODS which are that religious in cities like Jerusalem, but the city per-se isn't Sharia level extreme. I've been to Jerusalem, there are plenty of women walking around in pants (and skinny pants, and tank tops, and everything in between). Maybe in the settlements or various villages there might be religious nutjobs but there's no reason for a woman dressed provocatively to go there unless she's looking for trouble, and you could say that about anyplace. On average, Israeli Jews are SIGNIFICANTLY less religious than the Jews of other countries. The black suited, bearded hasidim/haredim you associate with Judaism somewhere like New-York are a distinct (and not very liked, because they refuse to serve in the army) minority.

Not all of them, but certainly a great deal. Of the 10 most popular boys' names in Israel (as of 2013), 7 were biblical. Of the 10 most popular girls' names, 5 were. With very few exceptions, Israeli names are either biblical or simply words in Hebrew, generally either virtues or commendable natural objects ("lion", "stag", "oak tree", "river", "cloud", etc.)
