I am looking to buy a catsuit+mask in the near future (im male). Has anyone compiled something like a cheat-sheet for what to look out for in purchasing/measuring/fitting/longterm-stability/materials/vendors? I heard fantastic rubber is top, yet rather expensive which wouldnt be a problem, but its always good to have an overlook over the market.
The main concern for me is spending 700 usd for a custom fitted suit and a few months later I would decide to bulk up/gain more muscle mass making (happens often with me) the suit too tight. I had some cheap latex before and I know its really flexible, but it lose the perfect-fit feel right?

Not sure where you live but if you spend the money on a custom suit try to get it from a local supplier to do a fitting or ask someone to take proper measurements of you. I would go for an american or European manufacturer and ask where they got their latex from. Try to source high quality latex like supatex.com or yummigummylatex.com

Question about made-to-measure catsuits:
I had ordered a made-to-measure catsuit from latex-crazy.com back in December and received it sometime in March. I've since had to patch it three times because of small tears along the seams. Granted, I've probably slept in it 9 times, fucked in it 5 times, and gone dancing in it twice, so I attribute the small holes to excessive wear or poor measuring on my part rather than a lack of quality.
I want to get professionally measured for my next one, but how does one do that? Do I literally print out the measurement form and bring it to a tailor? How much do you suppose they'd charge? There are a number of measurements that include the penis, so I'd probably do those myself. Anyone with any experience here?

It's less a latex suit and more a compression suit. Instead of keeping the body together by putting an atmosphere around it, you keep the body together with really constricting skin-tight clothes.
Alas, there will never be sexy latex spacesuits, because you need loads of padding on the outside anyway, pumping water/coolant around to keep the temperature at a comfortable level.
The only real difference is that such a spacesuit will look more like a 60's scifi version of arctic clothes, than the sheer bulk of a spacesuit.

From my experience; what ruined a Libidex catsuit m2m for me was washing it with the wrong soap. I thought a mild dose out of whatever bottle was sitting next to the bathtub would be fine. But after 2 washings the hands and feet dried up, fell apart and from there on the arms and legs started to tear as well. From what I have read is that some detergents can deteriorate the seams as well, so you may want to check if that wasn't the cause.
Anyways, this makes me a bit nervous as my new latex-crazy m2m catsuit is about to arrive after waiting for over 4 months and I hope it lasts longer than that.
Regarding the measuring; Some vendors like libidex or latexcrazy offer a service where you can come to their shop for measuring, that seems to me the best since they know the material better than a regular tailor. If that's not an option someone else (GF?) can take your measurements if she reads the form carefully (and doesn't cheat and take a cm off here and there), I'm not sure if a professional tailor has an advantage over that, no experience with it.

I have used bathsoap the whole time since I bought my first latex item. It works fine for me. I use bar soap though (Dove brand to be precise). I wouldn't even dare use Dawn dish detergent or any other abrasive soap cleaner.
