Trying to learn how to x-ray. Can someone please give me some pointers? I am using photoshop cs6

Easymode on this one. This was two steps. I selected area and then hit "Auto Tone." After that, play with saturation, darkness, brightness, contrasts. Also add yellow and probably a bit a red in color balance.
Whites generally also do well with levels. Select area, hit autolevel on histogram, move outer pointers in to edge of histogram curve, and then move the center pointer around until you maximize what you want to see.
Is that generally what you do for most? Completely new at this.

Uh -- no. I don't do anything "generally". I look at the picture and do any number of things based on what I think will work based on my experience.
Okay so how would you go at something like this

Easy mode on black is either to increase exposure or do "auto tone" or "auto color" as I described, and then work on contrasts, saturation and colors. But I don't think that would work here. I might try channels (very complicated) or curves (also very complicated). But I think there is a resolution problem here. I am not sure that enough light is escaping from this black.

Okay so what is channels and curves and what do they do? Sorry for bieng a pain
>>14454938
And what do you mean by "light escaping"?

Channels is a color manipulation filter in PS. Curves is a more complicated way of working with the histogram than levels. By "light escaping" I mean light reflected from skin rather than absorbed by or reflected from the cloth. There are large spots of essentially black coloring on this -- meaning areas where there is little to no light reflected from skin rather than absorbed by the black cloth.

Okay thanks. I am going to have a crack at an easy one now cheers
