where i grew up, my school was in the middle of what they called "machete zone"
the police did not go there at night

10 people a week were killed or severely injured in this one square mile area, but few incidents were ever reported on the news.
Rather than risk officer's lives, the city just let things work themselves out in that neighborhood, and after about 10 years most of the residents had killed each other off.
Our prisons are not designed for that kind of criminal. There is no rehabilitating savages like these.
I'm not saying what they did was right, i'm saying officials had no other choice. It shouldn't have happened, but once it was out of control there was no fixing it. Two of my teachers died trying.
OP's pictures are nothing compared to what i saw on the way to school. My bus driver did not stop for bodies in the road, he didn't even slow down.
