Did anyone else notice that 4chan is much slower than usual?
Is it because the lefties are crying somewhere else?
I think it's just some people going out for a swim at this nice time of a day.
I know I'm going out for a swim soon.
>>570863
Why would lefties be crying?
>>570901
Something about some people not liking the EU. Or something like that.
is hiro oblivious to how large 4chan's part in influencing western internet culture (and by extension western culture at large) is? is he oblivious to 2ch's part in influencing a generation of N.E.E.T. geeks in japan?
at what point should an administrator decide that a safe space/incubator for the ideas of jaded virgins shouldn't exist? things like
D E S I G N A T E D
and cuck have taken the place of actual discourse on every board. it's spreading to other chans and, more importantly, other websites. the internet has cancer, and the...

It's just size. Size ruins everything. What you choose to do is up to you. There are still smaller chans that espouse an alternative style.
While hiro's words are tainted with his convoluted and controversial history, he does seem serious about maintaining freedom on these boards.
There's not much else to say.
As that other anon said, there are many other boards out there- including one's without the taint of politics.
>>570832
>is he oblivious to 2ch's part in influencing a generation of N.E.E.T. geeks in japan?
What influence?
Do you think there will ever be another 4chan panel?
It would just be full of Reddit
What did moot actually talk about at them?
>>570806
Boring shit like how many pageviews they were getting and what new hardware they had.
2/3 of each panel was devoted to a Q&A

Please unsticky this thread. The mods should be unbiased
>>570745
hahahahaha
fuck off
The OP post seems pretty unbiased. This referendum is very politically important.

If the UK had voted to remain all the UK users would have a European Union flag and everybody would be basking in the butthurt of people screaming conspiracy. Making fun of losers is a past-time honored by everyone.

Why do tripfags who do nothing but post off-topic never get banned?
Half of the general this dude shitposts in has him filtered for his obnoxiousness and I've yet to see him banned.
I do have him filtered, but idiots still post about him anyway without replying so the stubs aren't hidden. Plus I have to deal with him and people who reply to him when I'm on mobile.
99% of this dude's posts have nothing to do with the game and are instead about himself. I report his posts any chance...

tbf its not a secure tripcode
Bumping.

Is there any particular reason why some boards are blue and others like /b/, /pol/ and /r9k/ are yellow?
>>570673
SFW boards are in blue (blue boards = no porn, gore, etc)
>>570673
the other poster is right. yellow boards are NSFW but it doesn't always mean porn automatically.
yellow bored means everyone is a pedo

>It's down
Oh, okay.
>>570659
That was only really a major problem for /b/ and fgts.jp though, and they had a reporting system for that.
Why the fuck did they die now?
What's the point of sageing a thread?
so it doesn't bump and stay alive any longer than it should.
>>570640
So it's kinda like a downvote
>>570643
You can thank moot for making threads get deleted based on least number of bumps instead of pruning the least actives (like 2ch) or the oldest (like Futaba).
Fucking why? It's happening on the smaller boards too. They're just completely disregarding the board and thread they're in and engaging with an anon or two about stupid political nonsense.
At least /v/ermin stick to their board for the most part and are insanely beta outside of /v/. /pol/ might be topping /v/ as my personal least favorite board on the site.
>>570616
Proofs? Not saying I'm a /pol/tard but you can't just go around making baseless claims about a group.
>>570619
>>>/vr/3312521
Notice how anons were all being cool and just complying with the OP, not just telling him to gtfo or accusing him of being /pol/ before it just goes into complete off-topic territory.
This is simply a symptom of the... pendulum.
We were right wingers, then that ran out of steam and it swung back, through moderation, into left-wingers, and now that has lost steam, we've actually already go back through moderation (the internet makes this happen faster and faster and faster as time has gone on), and we're going back ti right-wingerdom.
I'm sorry you are being triggered by the shifting zeitgeist.
Is this the most narcissistic website online?
Go on /sci/, everyone is convinced that they are pursuing the best major or use the best tools for X thing and that everyone else is a retard. Go on /pol/, they are convinced that they have the best political beliefs and are in on some hidden truths that no one else is aware of. On /mu/ and /tv/, people think their tastes are the best. You could write similar statements for every board.
It isn't even so much that people act this way but just how obnoxious they are about it. What is wrong with the people here?
>>570420
As opposed to what websites that are less narcissistic? I'm one of those people who goes to more than one website out there, and it's just as narcissistic elsewhere. Sure, on smaller communities, people get along more (and push out people they don't get along with more effectively) but people getting along and not fighting is just a Circlejerk if you aren't part of it.
Name a website that isn't narcissistic and there's probably going to be more narcissism there than you think.
Yes, newfag.
>>570420
It used to be less serious.
>inb4 lol you think 4chan wasn't really racist back then or thought highly of itself
It was, but it was about 50/50 humor and seriousness.
That example from /sci/, I know they do that because that's a real type of humor that actually exists in academia if you look at math and physics circles in particular. It's not just 4chan. However, again it's sort of half humor half serious and that's how it starts on 4chan, then you...

Also you could replace the "Europe" caption with "EUSSR".
>>570367
What's wrong with remaining in the EU, Anon?
>>570382
Its parliament is run by unelected people, it's stealth dictatorship, as we all know the USSR planted sleeper cells like the Baader-Meinhoff gang when it disintegrated.
Almost half the seats in the EU are filled by groups that espouse radical marxism/leninism/stalinism. If you can't see why communism is bad, learn history and get off the benefits.
Oh fuck never mind then.
Many people have been saying mobile IP addresses should be banned from posting on 4chan.
Now there are many reasons why people say "phoneposting" shouldn't be allowed, but that's not what this thread is about.
This thread is about why posting from a mobile IP address SHOULD be allowed. I want to know the counter-arguments.
>>570296
people don't post cp from mobile ips. that alone makes mobile > pc.
>>570296
Anyone who says phone posting shouldn't be allowed is a dumb cuck thinking you can't actually engage in conversation from a phone and get triggered when they see "image.jpg". It's easy to range ban people who ban evade with their mobile data, its just that no one can be bothered to spam from a phone.
Prove me wrong.
phoneposting opens up for a much larger userbase, I'm not sure whether they actually earn money on them through advertising, but if this was the case, it'd make for a lot of money.
>>570308
The problem isn't that you can't engage in conversation, it's that the majority of users posting from phones don't participate and provide high quality comments/images as well as those on computers.
It's still possible on mobile, no doubt, but search "image.jpg" in any of the archives...

When is the proper time to put sage in the options field?
If you want to reply to a thread but not bump it to the front page (e.g. Cunny threads, threads where last post was like 1 hour ago and already dead)
>>570178
If what you're posting doesn't contribute to the thread, is blogshit, or you do not want to bump the thread.
