Why is /a/ so annoying?
Motivation: Things that you find annoying are seen as positive and enjoyable to the majority of /a/ and they are trying to be positive and enjoyable to each other. Likewise, your disdain for /a/'s behaviour and annoyance with their actions and methodology returns positive yields to them, so it is in their best interest to be "annoying" and they do things in their best interest.

When I see someone asking if something is any good, I like to lie and tell them it is even if it's something I've never played/watched/read/etc. Sometimes I even go so far as to make things up. I just want people to try things for themselves and form their own opinions instead of dismissing something just because someone else says it's bad. So my win condition is simply to convince them to try it, whatever it is.

In an effort to combat shitposting and low-quality threads, I think all replies should automatically be set on sage. If the poster thinks the thread is quality enough, they can remove the sage option manually from their post.
This should help keep newfriends from continually bumping crappy threads and would be useful on the fast/problem boards like /v/ and /b/.

It's not impossible. You just mostly need to replace it with something else. Hopefully something fun. 4chan is a very social outlet for a lot of people but not everybody. Lurkers, who make up close to 80% of 4chan's userbase, have little trouble quitting for long spans of time. This is a good time to test your self control skills. Quitting isn't enoguh, you're gonna have to eliminate the want for weed as well. These wants and needs will only bring you pain and suffering if you're sitting there wanting to light up. Don't want the weed and quitting will be better.
