So i was lurking on mobile and when i tried to post it said i was banned. I went to the link and it said i was banned on 12/8/15 and it expired 12/9/15 from /vg/. I never post on vg unless asking for teams for games and ive posted many times between 12/8 and now. Anyone know what is going on? Also pic unrelated forgot to get a screencap.

Your mobile got assigned an IP that was banned. Bans are only lifted when the IP accesses it.

It's never actually been a meme website we just credit ourselves for everything, idiots pretend that 4chan is some kind of meme-factory which is bs.
It's not really much of a discussion website either though, /v/ /a/ /tv/ /b/ and the bigger boards lack in content the most.
I don't really understand the point of this website anymore. I only come here to be a faggot and see how people react as well as be amused by my low standards in terms of humor.
What is the site to you and why do you come here ?
It's been shit for years now but I can't leave.
What it used to be: a website where computer-literate nerds came to discuss their hobbies and exchange brutally honest critique.
What it is now: it's still a place to discuss hobbies except all of the people who contributed good content have left.
Because I can have an open ended discussion about things I like.
There's also literally nothing better.

Range bans are awful please stop mods.
This is like 4th time being affected by one and there is basically no recourse.
Can one person really be that troublesome that it requires banning legitimate users en masse?
Range bans happen when the mods are too lazy to set aside two hours of their day rebanning the same guy over and over and over.
I think they should be shorter in length though.

Whenever I've been affected by one they've eventually just gone away, but I have no idea f that was range ban running out, my ip range changing or something else.
It's frustrating to get blocked because of one person's actions.

Home rangebans are already short.
I remember constantly getting rekt in the past (5+ years ago) because my isp has hostnames looking like proxies. Nowadays rangebans are much shorter and more specific (per-board) and are mostly there to prevent massive spam.
It seems that /qa/ has the mods as its boogieman. Remember, if someone disagrees with you, reflect moot or the mods in positive light in any form or make it seem like the users are a problem in any way, they are a mod
I was given a warning for abusing the report system for reporting this thread. That is just how salty these mods are.

The point is, the userbase wants to actually legit talk to you, but YOU must understand why people are pissed off at you right now. If you continue to keep up the way you have been moderating all of last year and after GamerGate, people will leave this site more and more, and people will continue to hate you. We are asking, as users, for more dialogue from you. We want open channels. We want you to do your jobs and talk with the userbase. Understand how we feel about the shitposting from Reddit invaders and the onslaught of underage faggots thinking 4chan is for funposting....

I start 4chan today and it seems different, turns out all my settings were set to default. When I try to change them back, they don't save, the save settings button is gone too.
