Why is /a/ so backwards? Seriously, nearly all the threads are shitposting and ecchi/hentai. Once in a while a great thread comes but most are just terrible. Also they seem to be so backwards, their memes are stuck in the past, they're hostile assholes and that retarded attitude towards "spoonfeeding". Even on the designated shitposting boards like /mu/, /tv/, /v/, /int/ there are way more interesting threads, memes are fresh (like /v/'s 0.5x A press memes). Also people don't go fucking crazy when someone posts a troll thread, they just ignore it or...

I have filtered all eastern European nations on /int/, /pol/, and /sp/ and I have seen a drastic increase in quality from all these boards
However on other boards there is no way to filter all the Eastern Europeans and their shitposts. This has a simple solution, range ban all of Eastern Europe
I also tested by leaving the non slavic nations such as the Baltic states, Hungary, and Romania unfiltered and the quality was still increased noticeably. This leads me to believe that Slavs are the source of the problem.

So 4chan in 2016 has mods that literally defend reddit, unstable moderation where legit content gets deleted while flaming and shitposting goes through, post-ironic content taking over established board cultures.
