We seriously need good mods in /qa/. This place has become a haven for trolls and shitposters lately because the lack of moderation. People come and shit up threads especially when they don't agree with OP. This has to be stop.
>>470139
/qa/ always lacked moderation but befire hiro the worst thing we had to deal with was Nice and 8gag spam.
>>470139
This. It's impossible to discuss some issues under this board. Especially when it's /tv/ or /pol/ related.
>>470166
Are these issues really worth discussing though?
So you decided you wanted to be a Janitor. And perhaps one day, a Mod.
Share your stories of higher aspirations.
Mine is a common one.
>Been on the site 10 years
>Finally sick of the flood shitposting on /v/
>Think it's about time I do something.
>Wait a long time for the janitor application window to open up.

This is why janitor applications from /qa/ posters are rejected. They're hell bent on ruining the site more, not making it better.
>>469941
The things you say don't make sense.
>>469936
can you please post a little bit of the application you sent?
>you post the same, or basically the same, thread on a single board over and over again, same picture, same comment
Okay, who among you does this? Why? Why do you do it? I really wanna know what the rationale is. Do you think we didn't hear the first time?
I've posted the same thread lots of times.
I don't why I do it.

Seeing how different users react to to the same subject.
Can we ban discussion of Underman from /v/? I don't like this game, or its fans.
>>465909
Done
>>465909
/v/ is the only large forum on the internet that's still talking about Underman.
>>465909
Hiro, can you please filter "SJW, "Reddit" and "Tumblr" buzzwords like you did for other shitposting words? Thank you.
>buzzwords
Funny, because this is a "buzzword" too. Stop being hypocrite, dumbass.
And go back to where you came from, because, I swear, literelly EVERYONE who complains about "reddit" and "tumblr" either browse the R site or dumblr.
>>468529
>who complains about "reddit" and "tumblr" either browse the R site or dumblr
No they don't. These words are only used for the means of shitposting and derailing threads.
>And go back to where you came from
Go fuck yourself.

When generals get dupe revived after they fall off the board, sometimes multiple people post the same general. This can particularly happen if more than one person wants to be the next person to make the thread.
Then we need to wait for a mod/janitor to come around and delete the dupe threads. It's particularly bad because if this doesn't happen two entire threads can be kept alive at once.
People should be able to delete their own threads if they're extremely young and share a subject title with another thread. That way people who mess up and post...

Yeah, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to delete your thread, for let's say five minutes after creation.
>>469869
Or maybe just deal with the fact that people can create threads and ones which do not attract conversation with naturally fall off the board. Trying to force this one thread dedicated to a single thing at a given time is in effect enforcing a culture of general threads, which naturally stifle creativity and limit conversation.
Your pic related in particular contains a general thread on /a/ which belongs on either /jp/ or /int/, and so should be moved by mods regardless. Why are mods moving other /jp/ threads...

DJT is not a /jp/ thread, anon. /jp/ is a niche otaku culture board. The japanese language is not a niche otaku interest.
Why is australia associated with shitposting?
Because they shitpost?
Because their toilets flush in a different direction.
>>468911
they are unable to discuss anything
>2016
>Flags still on /pol/
Remove them but keep the ID's. There is no reason to have flags on /pol/ anymore. It's not /int/, but /pol/. ID's are good to prevent samefagging but having both is superfluous & flags compromise the anonymity of a poster (i.e. the sole reason people come on 4chan) because they enjoy being anonymous.
IDs should be optional for the same reason.
You want to dig in for a long discussion/debate? ID up. Otherwise it's hardly anonymous.

- The ads in question are served from hxxp://ecpmrocks.com, which allows injecting its own Javascript and is able to redirect and hijack browsers. The script tries to read HTML5 localstorage cookies. The official ad host is Epom Market LTD.

KEEP ME POSTED
That reminds me malware adbro
What the fuck is zkcdn.net and how have I not noticed it for a whole year now? People first started seeing it last February in NoScript apparently.
I know it has "something" to do with an advertiser called Adzerk, but I don't know what its connection is with the whole malware thing.
Is there any?
>>466891
I think I'm just going to start blocking ads on 4chan.
Hiro clearly isnt looking out for us, so we dont need to bother looking out for him.
¿How about no?
Daily reminder that hispachan has been advertising on 8gag with these exact same ads for over a year. Hiroyuki is literally allowing 4chan to lick up 8gag's leftovers.
>>467639
It's not just hispachan, jlist also ticks me off with their anime faggotry but it seems they're not advertising right now.
>>467635
Not blocking ads on 4chan is a security risk, see >>466891
>>467639
It's best to keep your adblocker on for all sites and add exceptions for specific ad servers on the sites you want to support. Then you can do things like selectively block obnoxious ads.

And you're better protected if the administration pulls a Hiroyuki.
I like these better...

Why do idiots assume anyone with a different opinion is from reddit? Demographics aren't static, boy. You can always fuck off if you don't like it. Surely you have other things to do, right boy? Maybe mow some lawns? Help your mom out?
Once again, /v/ mods and jannies are deleting video game threads. Dead or Alive threads have been getting deleted for no reason. Just now a thread was 404'd despite being video games, the board's topic, and about a trailer for an upcoming game in the series. A game that's coming out in about two weeks.
This isn't the first time this has happened, and anons have gone to feedback to report this person's abuse of the threads just because he doesn't like them. Dead or Alive threads are video games, and belong on /v/.
Here's a link...

It's been going on for some time now. There is even a thread here regarding that.

It's fucking laughable. Where is Hiro? Wasn't he supposed to improve shit? He ended up helping /a/ and then left rest of 4chan in this shit mess of idiotic moderation.
>>467559
It's not even a "fun vidya" type of thread. These are threads made because a trailer for an upcoming game is coming out. That's about as on-topic as you can possibly get.
>>467561
Maybe the mod is still triggered because DoAX is associated with that SJW triggering drama.
Why does this fag never get banned?

Once a mod came into the threads and said something along the lines of "only discuss the series, not the fanbase", but he still didn't ban him or at least delete his posts. He deleted the whole thread after a while, like his samefagging was our fault.
It's obvious it's one person, it wouldn't even be much work.

What's a /qa/fag? Everyone here is from some other board.
Over the years there has been a growing problem on /a/ in the form of general threads which last twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. It has now reached a saturation point wherein if you want to discuss something /a/ related, you either find a general thread for the particular thing or you create your own and the thread is either ignored or you are told to fuck off to X general. The remaining threads are essentially cookie-cutter template meme threads which function similar to a general in that they attract the same set of inane and often off topic bullshit, every single...

Some time around late 2014 an anon appeared in the thread which would drastically alter the dynamic of the general, all the way to its current point. From this anon was born a rather huge resource hub and eventually a small dedicated website to the guide and other related productions of the thread itself. This massive host of resources, etc. which are useful for any learner and not just /a/nons, has been posted on several websites and imageboards around the web and has drawn a huge amount of outsiders and crossboarders...

They have established their own website and everything pertaining to the thread itself is handled entirely outside of the context of 4chan and it being maintained by people who no longer visit /a/. What those few posters achieved is truly impressive on a scale not seen in a persistent thread on /a/, however it has no place on /a/ anymore. Mods, please fucking do something about this. Get rid of this cancerous general once and for all.
Now compare that to an example of what it was before the autists took over:...

This bullshit happens in a lot of generals. While I think generals are a nice idea in concept, too many of them just fall apart like this.
