Reminder containment of anything is stupid and retarded and you are an idiot and cancer for suggesting such a thing. If it has to be 'contained', it should be banned instead.
>>539078
"Containment" basically means "I don't like this thing, but I know I won't be able to get it banned from this site so I want to try and force discussion of it to a different board."
>>539085
I must disagree. Containment is more put it in a petri dish and watch it grow
>>539078
4chan is reddit's containment site.
Think of a way to allow OP to moderate his own threads without making him OP(overpowered).
>>538991
OP can request for a post to get deleted. Red text appears on a post saying "This post has been flagged for deletion." Other users can then click the dropdown menu and click a "delete post" button. When five people have clicked the button, the post is deleted.
I think we should add the ability, so that the OP can delete his thread.
>>539017
You can do that on most boards
Since when did we let those retards have their own board, but also let them moderate it themselves into a self-pampering circlejerk? Do they think this is Ponychan instead of a containment board? since when was it against the rules even on /mlp/ to discuss the cartoon? something they never cared about in the first place, hence why they spammed it on /b/ instead of discussing it in /co/.
Does /mlp/ think it's /a/ to warrant so much entitlement?
>>538966
>You have been banned, now please buy an ad.
I cannot believe mods do this.
I even discussed the show with some substance, something these /b/ronies haven't done since 2013.
Of course I treated them like shit(i mostly ignored them), they're the reason I can't discuss 1 little fantasy cartoon with /co/, /tv/ and /tg/ even on a good Christmas day.
Plus I was too calm handling them, compared to their hypocritical /a/utist and /b/-tier spam replies they kept forcing in the thread. Their deriding and denial is beyond the limits of common sense, especially from their position in a containment board.
We should allow users to treat...

If he was still here - the old Moot who made /fur/ and then gathered all their ips and banned them all. Then he would have placed all the frustrated mods of 4chan into /mlp/. They would delete every cyoa greentext, general, shitpost and force them to discuss the show in a creative manner. Why did we never do that for containment boards rather than ignoring them? Now instead we let the ponyfags have their own moderation where they allow greentext and ban show discussion that isn't highly positive and in denial.
17 (seventeen) Overwatch threads up on /v/ at the moment and the game isn't even out yet.
I thought one of the reasons /vg/ was created was so that /v/ wouldn't be clogged up by numerous general-style threads about a single game.
Mods please deliver us from this Overwatch hell.
Retards can't use the catalog it looks like.
>>538968
>Retards can't use the catalog it looks like.
Ironic since there's already a thread here on /qa/ about this.
>>538951
>I thought one of the reasons /vg/ was created was so that /v/ wouldn't be clogged up by numerous general-style threads about a single game.
Not a single one of those are general types, you dumbass generalfag /v/ermin. /v/ really doesn't even know what a general.
Can a webm of Amy Schumer fully clothed, but clearly seen putting roll on deodorant on between her legs - even though you don't see any genitalia - be considered NSFW?
Is a 15 minute block for posting this webm justified?
Is a 3 day ban for posting this webm justified?
Is it the "gross" or "shock" value that makes it NSFW? (haha, Lamey Poomer is fat and gross amirite my fellow redditors xD)
Thoughts, especially from janitors/mods/admin, are appreciated.
I think it is pretty gross that someone would actually put on deodorant down there, yes. It doesn't matter if you see anything if it's something pretty gross. Pictures of vomit and stuff get deleted too.
If you get blocked or banned for that image being "NSFW", that's clearly a case of janitor/mods either not understanding the rules, or abusing their power.
Depending on what board/thread you are on, and what you posted with that image, a block for being off topic is potentially justified.
But the webm itself is clearly safe for work.
>>538904
Getting banned for that image is absolutely fucking retarded if the reasoning is "NSFW".
>running gag in /metal/ general
>post pic related
>implying black metal
>100+ posts in thread is deleted
>this has happened on numerous occurances
>thread is deleted due to mods being racist
There is no other reason.
>these black women are not music-related
Indeed, so we made an image like pic related with a white redheaded woman with freckles....

You don't have a question, or an answer. You're just complaining about the mods.
does this shit happen to anyone else for a split second when opening the catalog on any board?
>>538760
i can still load the catelog fine its just that this appears for less than a second while loading the catelog
>>538762
Yes it's loading the CSS
If a thread is being moderated and supposedly rule-violating posts are going to be deleted, is it really too much to ask for those measures to not be so half-baked? Or that there's some consistency? Or that there's signs of life behind the scenes?
I'll give you that it's too difficult to be consistent site-wide; there are simply too many posts to be individually scrutinized. I'll give you that it's probably too difficult to be very consistent on just the board; there are over a hundred threads many with multiple hundreds of posts, and maybe that...

Also, when it comes to appeals, what is an acceptable one? I'll begrudgingly accept that the pic's wasn't, but is it too much to ask that when someone puts sincere effort into making one that that person can expect a real response as to why it doesn't make the cut instead of a bureaucratic, automatic output? Can there be a complimentary list to the sample bans page that shows sample appeals so this question doesn't have to be asked ever again?
Finally, as a side note, I'd appreciate if someone could spell out the logic that makes it so that legitimately shitty posts become valid to the extent of being exempt from being reportable when someone else who is banned is the one trying to report it.
This was really tough to write and I don't think I'll ever be able to get rid of the stains of the tears that fell atop my desk but I'll graciously await some answers. Thank you.

You should be banned for not being able to format a rant correctly
When is the filesize limit on WebMs going to be increased? Even 4MB like every other file format would be fine. Tired of having to lower the resolution to <480p and starve the bitrate for anything longer than 10 seconds.
>>538491
Use pomf or other botnets if you want to upload 2 hour movies.
>>538521
how are pomf clones a botnet?
also kys, we need a bigger filesize AND VP9
>muh imageboard only
If you wanna be a purist fuck then don't allow them in the first place.

Learn how to put together a webm properly and you won't be having to
>lower the resolution to <480p and starve the bitrate for anything longer than 10 seconds
So many retards upload bloated conversions. They're just as bad as those idiots who save jpgs as pngs.
Moderation on /pol/-posting outside of /pol/ needs to be tougher.
/g/ is completely unreadable now, thanks to /pol/ cross-posters who shit up every thread with Indian/SJW/cuck jokes.
>>538361
Wait, what the fuck does Boku no Pico have to do with that Youtube personality? Doesn't he review video games or something?
>/g/ is completely unreadable now, thanks to /pol/ cross-posters
/g/ is complete fucking trash thanks to the hoards of normalfags who have made it their homeboard for the past few years. It's basically Reddit: the board.
>>538365
Read ANY thread with more than 30 replies. I guarantee it will be infested with /pol/ memers.
You can get banned for posting quotes from a scene in The Dark Knight Rises, or making use of the word 'Reddit', or even creating """"""off topic"""""" posts on /pol/ itself.
Yet these uneducated neckbeards get away with posting their racist and bigoted trash all over 4chan, derailing discussions about music or football or television shows or anything about this stupid obsession with how the Jews are behind everything that they personally don't like.
And yet the mods do nothing about it,...

Can we get a sticky on /r9k/?
Yes please. We want a sticky dicky.

I guess I'll just say that I would like this to happen.
sticky please pretty please with cherries

I'm sorry but 4chan's /qa/ is not the comment section of 4chanX's github.
Good thread.
>>538935
Good post.
As we all know, the terms "normalfag" and "normie" were created on /r9k/ (well actually family guy). In the past year and a half, i've been seeing the terms plastered on every board of the site, especially /a/. This is pure cancer and anyone who unironically uses these terms outside of /r9k/ should receive a warning or a short ban.
>>538263
The word normalfag was created by /a/utists and word normie is decades old
>>538263
alsi ban all the 4chan classics that originated in /b/ on all boards except /b/ everyone who even mentions them should be permanently banned
Past year? This term has been here since 2006.
Not only you're a normalfag for being triggered about this, but also a newfag.
Just go back to Facebook, faggot. The term isn't cancer, you are the cancer.
What's the best board on 4chan?

Still, I picked it too. I can be pretty comfy. Almost like a slower, less spergy /b/, though I think that's what you meant.
