umm, yes, but, it's interesting how the final product came out. It's not historically accurate, but if you're redpilled, you wind up laughing at things you're not supposed to, and the cringe parts aren't that irritating. I think ultimately the final monologue kind of backfires, because it's too redpill for what they probably intended.

This is the best analysis really. If you are a nationalist then you might think "Wow, all these people are realizing that Hitler was right all along! That's a good thing." If you are anti-nationalist then you might think "Wow, all these people are being duped by Hitler into thinking nationalism is good, just like the 1930s! That's a bad thing."
Although the scene with the Jewish grandmother made me think that the writer's intent was leaning more toward the latter. Just a way of saying that, while Hitler's brand of nationalism did do some good for Germany, he also committed some atrocities that you shouldn't forget either.

You honestly thought wrong. It was a novel first, written by a German author, (of whom I can find no reference to being Jewish) and the movie is basically faithful to the novel.
In fact, I read an article that stated the producers wanted the director to include more overtly negative reactions to Hitler in the film and they simply couldn't, because of the roughly 300 real people they ended up directly interacting with, only 3 or so reacted negatively to Hitler.
That /pol/ doesn't completely grasp this films point and its modus operandi I guess isn't completely surprising.
Yes, Hitler is likeable in the movie and novel. That is the point. The film is an examination of how Hitler managed to come to power in the first place, the power of rhetoric and presented as a cautionary tale.
