Lurk for a while for sure
Unfortunately there is no simple video to explain everything.

The image in the most extreme cases of western media is "a brutal dictator who kills his civilians".
Its easy to tackle this image.

>Does a brutal dictator:
- Ship medical/food supplies all over his country
- Harbour thousands of internal refugees in refugee camps (preventing further emigration to EU!)
- Win a presidential election that is monitored by dozens of countries?
- Have pro-government rallies and groups ABROAD? (see American Syrians FB page support Assad, or rally in Frankfurt (germany) pro-Assad pic related)
- Be secular (army is 70% Sunni, government has Sunni ministers, christians (leaders) support Assad, Druze support Assad)
- Have an opposition coalition in its parliament

>Does a healthy democratic secular Syrian revolution:
- Ally with salafist extremists (al-Nusra, Jaysh al-Islam)
- Be represented at the UN by people who are seated in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (an archenemy of Syria?)
- Need the UK to pay PR contractors in Istanbul to make media for them >>72838263
- Be extremely sectarian (>95% Sunni, only holding Sunni majority areas, FSA commanders have stated "ethnically cleansing" Alawites is fine)
- Be geared by USA/Gulf states, trained in Jordan or Turkey and sent back into Syria

Its good for anyone to ask yourself these questions.

I agree. He can't keep a consistent tone, let alone position, on assad and Syria in general.

Im just surprised by the pretty blunt language he used, as it was more than a little threatening and unusually specific (august 1st).

Assad has to step down and rebels get their demands met.

Kerry is essentially saying the war has to be over by then. Because even without assad, I doubt the non-rebel areas will submit to fsa terms or us-mandated anything.

I don't have the answer for either of these questions. Just curious.

Al-Nusra Front breached 'regime of silence' near Aleppo

"Just yesterday with our American colleagues from the Reconciliation Centre, with the Syrian authorities, as well as with opposition groups, it was agreed to announce a ‘regime of silence’ in Aleppo and its suburbs. But an attempt to attack was undertaken from those places where terrorists of the Al-Nusra Front were located. Moreover residential areas of Aleppo were hit by several rocket attacks. For the moment, the ‘regime of silence’ was breached by the terrorists of Al-Nusra Front."

An attempt [to attack] was made yesterday: around 300 militants were trying to break into the position of the Syrian government troops near Aleppo."

"It is very difficult to achieve reconciliation there, and in particular to achieve a ‘regime of silence’ that was planned. After 24 hours we planned to prolong it."

Currently all measures are being taken by the Russian Centre for Reconciliation and our American colleagues from Amman, the negotiations are being held to achieve the cessation of hostilities in the area."

Ceasefire doesn't apply to them.
>>
>>72981186
No. Right after the Syrian government redeployed a bunch of elite units to Palmyra and took the city, the rebels started massive offensives in west Aleppo and Latakia, and the Syrian government lost a little bit of territory there.

A ceasefire would allow the Syrian army to focus on reaching Deir Ezzor, while the rebels can maybe stop their game of ping-ping in north Aleppo and actually hold some fucking conquered land for once.

Ceasefire supposed to allow RuAF and SAA to focus on ISIS more and less on moderate beheaders, which is sort of working as intended. Problem is moderate beheaders can convert to ISIS and back pretty easy, so ceasefire is still pointless, in my opinion.

On this picture on the left we have Rupert Murdoch. Owner of mother corporations News Corporation/21st Century Fox which includes Sky News and Fox News.

On the right we have his close friend Al-Waleed al Saud (yes, Saudi royal family) who held a high amount of shares in the News Corporation and still holds 6.6% of shares of 21st Century Fox.

News Corp. has a sizable stake in [Al-Waleed al Saud's] Rotana, a broadcasting company that airs Arabic and English programming in the Middle East. Alwaleed owns an 80 percent stake of Rotana, according to Bloomberg.

Al-Waleed al Saud has said: "We have a strategic alliance with Rupert Murdoch for sure and I have been with him for the last 15 or 20 years. My backing of Rupert Murdoch is definitely unwavering."

and the same ebil dictator who holds the part of Aleppo where most residents live because surprise! Live under Al-Nusra&friends isnt so great.

How so? You're supposed to publish the location and cover the building in internationally recognized symbols. If it isn't clearly a humanitarian building, there's nothing stopping you from firing on it.

The reason they bombed it was because that Hospital didnt send it s location to the SAA and the RUAF.

Also, the rebels fired at a Hospital in Goverment held area, but yeah just focus on this Hospital because of muh ebil dictator.

>>
>>72989480
>That's for a foreign invading army.
No it's not. You're supposed to mark all hospitals and humanitarian buildings. ALL OF THEM. The marking for a hospital is a single red line on a white background. If you don't clearly mark it, you can't claim international protection. It's that simple. Grunt no see red line? Grunt shoot, pewpew.

>This hospital has been around for ages.
Except it hadn't. It wasn't an official hospital, but one run and supported by volunteer organizations who "didn't publish its location for fear of being targeted".

>Protective signs are symbols to be used during an armed conflict to mark persons and objects under the protection of various treaties of international humanitarian law (IHL). While their essential meaning can be summarized as "Don't shoot!" or "Don't attack!", the exact conditions implied vary depending on the respective sign and the circumstances of its use. The form, shape and color of these signs are defined by the rules of IHL. Usually, they are easy to draw in order to make even an improvised use as easy as possible, and they were chosen to be as concise, recognizable and visible as possible under all circumstances.

>Usage of protective signs is restricted to armed conflicts. They are to be used only by eligible organizations or groups to mark their personnel, vehicles, buildings and other objects. The misuse of protective signs is a violation of international humanitarian law and punishable under the national law of all countries who are state parties to the respective treaties.

ABOUT ALEPPO HOSPITAL AL-QUDS:

Dr Nabil Antaki, an eminent physician based in Aleppo has stated very clearly that Al Quds hospital did not exist prior to the war against Syria was launched. This statement unequivocally designates it to be a terrorist hospital established perhaps in an existing building by the Al Nusra factions and assorted US NATO backed gangs that have occupied eastern Aleppo.

“This hospital [Al Quds] did not exist before the war started. It must have been installed in a building after the war began. I dont know anyone in the East of Aleppo who could confirm this hospital is Al Quds. Here is the link that shows all the private and public hospitals in Aleppo.” ~ Dr Nabil Antaki 2nd May 2016"

>>
>>72991790

Dr Nabil Antaki further stated:
1: The majority of Aleppo civilians are living in the Syrian government held sectors of western Aleppo. Over 1.5 million in these areas compared to 300,000 in the primarily Al Nusra occupied eastern sectors.

2: The western media lies and distorts the truth. They do not mention the terrorist blockade of western Aleppo or the constant food, water and electricity shortages.

3: Terrorist bombardment of civilians in western Aleppo is relentless and unreported. Mosques and hospitals are regularly targeted. No sector is spared the onslaught.

Heck, if the "moderate" groups of Aleppo just agree to wait and let al-Nusra to attack, they cannot possibly go wrong.

The rebels are very problematic. They are not only in bed with al Qaeda, but they don't focus on fighting ISIS because their main goal is to take down Assad, they don't care about the consequences. So yes, they are a bigger threat. ISIS would not take aleppo/idlib because they don't share a frontline, and north aleppo doesn't matter, they just hold Azaz and a few towns, nothing important.

Realistically, it was to make a case for getting sanctions lifted in this summer because their economy is in the shitter

If Turkey invades first, no article 5. Otherwise there will be places like Greece or France who won't go to war over Turkey, thus fracturing NATO.

anyone know more about the NDF vs NDF thing that happened a few days ago I think?
Who was involved? what happened?
>>
>>73000992
No. They "pulled out" to show they were committed to a political solution.
>>
>>73001308
Nah, they will all die like bitches trying to defend Istanbul.

No need to screencap. This will happen after you will be killed.
>>
>>73000960
Do you think Russia will risk shooting down American aircraft?

Absolutely no way. They aren't in sovereign territory and America is too large a superpower (relative to current standards) to disrespect.

>>73000996
But if Turkey invades to prevent ISIS expansion, that's certainly a train NATO can get on.

>>73001010
Turkey is in NATO, and has been for a while. So it's easy to sell that to the public.

you don't actually believe that oil prices dropped only because of overproduction, do you?
>>

which got them nowhere, and the Russians aren't stupid, they knew it wasn't going to from the beginning
>>
>>73001474

Do you think that the US would risk hurting a Russian soldier?

Absolutely no way. They aren't in sovereign territory and Russia is too large a superpower (relative to current standards) to disrespect.

Fuck off. I replied to all your gibberish and you couldn't provide arguments nor sources.

>>

Oil prices dropped because of Saudis. Who also suffer because of it, as do most gulf arabs.
Not to mention this jewel https://twitter.com/search?q=%23DropOutHillary&src=typd&lang=en
Not to mention sanctions on Russia are hurting the EU a lot as it's a double-edged sword contrary to popular belief.
>>
>>73001614

Why should we care about Russia?

>Superpower

good meme
>>
>>73001474
No it's not.

When European countries go public and proclaim that the future of NATO is in danger if the US supports the Turkish military adventure, they will be forced to backtrack or risk losing influence in Europe. If you have any geopolitical know-how you should be able to discern that they will never even consider this. Hell, they already made the statements of not offering support, when Turkey and Saudi Arabia first announced their intention to invade over land.

>>73001616
I can't provide sources, but you must understand the history, the people, the resources, and the leader of each nation to truly understand what is happening in the world.

I admit that I have been wrong before, as I was the one shilling for Turkey to invade Syria in February.

However, that never happened, but some kind Turkish anon said that Turkey would wait until the spring so that their people would not be deprived of Russia natural gas during what they call winter over there.

>>73001721
I would like to believe you, but there are larger forces controlling those prices. Perhaps Congress had the foresight to subsidize fracking (or some shit like that). We'll find out in 25 years.

I don't think so. Fracking is going nowhere and subsidies won't happen while everyone is having a bitch fit over burning rivers and similar.
Saudis and OPEC run the oil market, and that's exactly why they're currently flipping you off.

Our soldiers die for our country.

I don't think so. Obongo has been avoiding that since day 1, they won't hit them just because Erodgan asked.

Because there are not American forces (publicly) within the rebel ranks. While it is a well known fact that Russian troops are advising the SAA.

>just how Russian COULDN'T HAVE EVER been dumb enough to bomb US backed rebels, and the CIA
CIA is not officially there. There are 300 ground troops fighting alongside YPG. If some CIA agent get bombed the backlash would be for Obanana that promised no ground troops.

Unless they're openly there, it's a clandestine op, and thus their safehouses getting bombed mean nothing.
Russian and US advisors to SAA and the Kurds however aren't fair game like that, as they are openly there no matter Assad and Iran's bitching about US forces being there illegally.

In short, if Russia blows the fuck out of a CIA cell in Aleppo, nobody can claim anything as if USA says Russia btfo their op there, Russia will say they knew NOTHING about it and then press the matter of why exactly is a CIA cell in Syria before UNSC.
>>
>>73003951
Exactly. The president can't back up on his word and admit that an undercover CIA agent was on the receiving end of bomb as a casus belli
