Obama, for better or worse, has been giving ground to the republicans for 8 years. He's basically an honorary moderate republican on everything but a handful of token social issues.

The USA is undergoing a restructuring to become a finance and tech economy. Since the recovery, more than half of our economies gains have been coming from those sectors, it is only rising every year.
We aren't a service or manufacturing economy anymore. We create and regulate financial instruments to globalize the world, the rest of our economic output is only to maintain this system and is growing irrelevant.
The tech industry is also important, but it is not as likely to stay in the USA. Still good to be involved, but you might have to relocate in the future.
The best Onigger can do with gas prices at historic lows.

If we want to work on reducing it, we should start by fixing the military spending. Not "defund the military", but stop awarding criminally negligent amounts of spending to whoever bribes the person in charge to give their firm a contract.
There is an absurd amount of profit being made by private hands at the cost of your tax dollars. We are spending way more than we should on almost all of these contracts, because no one cares and if a politician brings it up the pundits tear them to shreds. Honestly though, I'd be concerned for doctors who aren't working in the private health sector for the wealthy. Even the dems seem content to defund anything that helps the public. Which means large parts of the healthcare sector will go the way of teachers. Overspent on their education and aren't compensated well enough to pay it back. The ones needed to maintain the people who have money will be compensated, everyone else will be told to work harder for less.
I'm torn on the issue, I'm not in particular danger of this new regime, but if you aren't following the signals of the wealthy, life is going to get tough for you. You either need to find a way to be in a private service industry that works for the powerful or you need to join their industries. The messge is loud and clear: public services cost the rich too much and need to be replaced with private services (which can than be sold to the highest bidder to pillage the coffer and move the public money to private investors).

The central achievement of his domestic policy was obamacare, which can only be described in the best of lights as adequate or a small step forward.
His foreign policy however has been an absolute disaster: Libya, Benghazi, Russia's rise, Syria and the Islamic State, and the alienation of our strongest allies by the activities of the NSA. This is an area where he has plenty of power to manage yet he has failed miserably.
The only real thing that he did for the best was end Cuba's isolation.
He had very little to do with the economic recovery. The only real notch he can claim in the economy was the stimulus package but even that is debatable as to its impact; at best, only marginally effective.
