I wanted to go to school in the US for most of my teenage life. Big schools, lots of people and big wide open spaces.
I enjoy going to the US once in a while because you guys have super cheap stuff.
But I'd never live in the US. I like peace and quietness. I don't know of anyone who wants to deal with ethnic violence between whites and blacks. I don't want to live in a country with rapidly deteriorating race relations or a country rife with social instability.
Even the small things. It's extremely irritating to live near highly populated areas. Things like traffic jams are stressful and irritating and having to deal with that stuff on a daily basis is ridiculous.
The US has a lot of jobs for us foreigners though - which is nice.

It's lovely where I live. No crime. Beautiful landscape, cops are bros, friendly people, slow gentle pace of life, no immigrants, nice pubs, good schools for my kids, everyone helps each other, really tasty food from local farmers, still have a barter system (so I can fix someone's drain for a haircut for example). It's in one of the remotest parts of England. We get blocked off in Winter when the snow comes. The police shut the roads.
However I'd love to go to an American diner, have a proper burger, cop off with a Yank lass and see the Grand Canyon. I'd love to fly over that in a helicopter.

The gun laws are good, career prospects are far better, and I like your automotive culture more than what we have here as well. Australians seem to be convinced that speeding 1km/h over the limit kills babies, and we get handed fines and tickets for the smallest possible offenses. In a lot of ways even the most civilised places in Australia are still quite a way behind a lot of the United States. Things close early here, amenities and things to do are harder to find, etc. Sydney and Melbourne traffic is as bad as LA but they're both a third of the size. You guys are actually proud of the country that you live in but Australia seems to be filled with flag burning leftists that whinge and cry about how we don't give enough money away to refugees. Poor people in the USA can still afford to rent or mortgage a cheap house, buy an iPhone, have access to the internet, and own a reasonable car which I unfortunately can not say the same for the poor within Australia - hell, I make $60k AUD per year and drive a 30 year old Corolla because it's prohibitively expensive to have anything better. The girlfriend is from the United States and she tells me that everything, literally everything, is so much cheaper over there. She nearly had a heart attack at how much it cost when we went shopping for groceries.
You make it really difficult for your Anglo brothers to get in though. I'm not qualified beyond a technical traineeship, and you guys won't let me apply for a visa to work there as a result. Hoping to get a degree one day so you will let me in on an E3 or something.
Only things that I think Australia has over the USA is food (very little HFCS and less pesticides), and perhaps the quality of life for people wanting to raise a family. In the US there are real situations where someone can't go to college because they can't afford it. Or they have to go to work at age 16 to support their family because the welfare and health care sucks. In Finland this does not happen. Anyone regardless of their background can get into the best school in the country if they're smart enough and study hard enough. Nobody has to drop out of school because the welfare system actually works.
So in Europe your social status is literally how much effort you put into it. No one has an excuse. If you don't have a college degree and work in a shit job it's YOUR FAULT.
