Is going to the casino alone degenerate? Just turned 22 bored and thinking about taking a couple hundred and hitting slots and table games
>>
>>81402917
No the casino is a great place to socialize. I've met plenty of awesome people at the craps and blackjack tables and when you tip the bartenders well they really appreciate it I've had some good conversations at casino bars.
>>
>>81402917
Yes and no. Inherently going to a casino in extreme moderation for entertainment is not degenerate. But doing so as a 22 year old NEET all alone is.
>>
>>81403076
Thing is I'm a total noob at table games is that the 21 game? And one you roll 7 or 11?
>>81403148
I'm not need ~50k/year weekly pay
>>
>>81402917
No. In fact, going to casino alone allows you to walk away ahead. Nothing worse than going with pals, getting up big early, but having to hang around the casino because they're behind and not ready to leave. You need to have discipline to win, and having to be social with others is an impediment.
>>
Nah, it's the casino. Nobody cares about you. Just pick if you're going to hit or not quickly so I can keep gambling.
>>
>>81402917
Go there to drink and socialize, but I would advise against gambling unless you know exactly what you're doing.

Most of the time its just a scam and a waste.

If you want to gamble you should trade stocks
>>
>>81403358
the dealers will help you out with the tiny stuff like what hand movements to use to signal things depending on the game but you should google basic blackjack, craps, and roulette rules and strategy.
>>
>>81403449
casino odds on most games are far better than someone who knows nothing about stocks buying stocks.
>>
>>81402917
gambling is stupid tax imo, the odds are against you.
>>
>>81402917
depends how religious you are
>>
>>81402917
bet it all on black
>>
>>81402917

No, it's relaxing if you go to the right place.

If you don't know basic blackjack strategy, I'd go and learn it. The Avery Cardoza book about blackjack for non-counters is my favorite because it explains why the strategy chart is the way it is, which can help you remember it.

For craps: pass line with double odds, but learn the etiquette and all that.
>>
>$200

Enjoy the 12 minutes of gambling that gets you.
>>
>>81402917
$200 will get you some long entertainment at a 1/2 NLHE poker table.

>go to casino
>everyone thinks they belong in World Series of poker
>some dope goes all-in every fucking hand
>>
>>81403752

You are retarded. On average you will lose money gambling. An index fund is better than that. A fucking T-bill is better on average.

The American education system is designed to breed a dumb underclass isn't it?
>>
>>81403358
>Thing is I'm a total noob at table games

There's games like roulette, baccarat, keno, bataille (dont know the term in english sry) that require 0 skills. All moves are the same. You have the same chance to win as the guy who came here for 20 years.

There's also other table games that require almost no skills (Caribbean Stud Poker, three card poker, baccarat) that require almost no skills. Usually the optimal play is as simple as ''fold when you have X holding or worse and call when you have better''

Just avoid pai gow, let it ride, blackjack and any poker related table game outside of the two i named earlier.

>>81405172
if you hit can you say the casino got BLACKED ?
>>
Why do people go to casinos? They're just places rigged against you. The house always wins.
>>
>>81407204
its just an hobby like another hobby
>>
>>81402917
going to the casino, or anywhere, alone is not degenerate.

asking other people if you should go somewhere alone or not IS degenerate.

if you want to go to the casino, go to the casino.

if you want to stay at home and read a book, stay at home and read a book.

who fucking cares what other people think.
be a man. think for yourself.
>>
>>81407204
The house wins 50.4% to 50.6% of the time actually in Blackjack/Pontoon.

But yeah, I go there for the fun of it and I always stick to a budget. Only go 3 or 4 times a year and make an event out of it.
>>
>>81407487

You're right. But I think OP is just memeing.
>>
All compulsive behaviour that has a tendency to control you or become you is a form of degeneration, as it denies your personal freedom, agency and self identity. In effect, you become less of a person and more a representation of your addiction or some shallow identity (in this case "the gambler").
>>
>>81402917
It's fine, but if you intend to gamble, assume that any money you bring with you is going to be gone when you walk out. If you had fun, then it was your cost of admission. Don't bring more than you think a few hours' entertainment is going to be worth, and if you're not having fun, leave immediately. And if you get ahead even by a little bit and you want to leave with more than you brought in, just cash in right then and there.

For now.
>>
Casinos are filled with degenerates and trash. Know that going in. If you plan to gamble take an amount you're willing to lose and leave if you do. Before playing any game read about it so you understand how to play and the proper strategy to give yourself the best chance.

If you want to make money at a casino learn how to play poker. Know that to become skilled at poker requires a high level of dedication and self discipline. You will have to play at least ten thousand hands before you know if you have what it takes to win in poker.
>>
>>81402917
You'd be better off taking that money, and buying some ammo. Talk to the guy at the store if you want to talk to someone.
>>
>>81409007
Hmmm I still don't know much about bonds, what kind of gains are you seeing with low cost T-notes? Say $500 or $1,000 for maybe 5 years?
>>
>>81407419
Normal hobbies cost money in order to allow the hobby to happen. With gambling, spending money IS the hobby. And that money goes straight into the casino boss' jew pockets.

Good goyim, gambling is a great hobby, bring your family and friends!

So long as people don't understand that fiat money is literally created out of thin air by banks every time they issue a loan. So long as people think that counterfeiting is wrong, but the central bank creating money at will is ok.

Once they come to understand that the money they use is virtually imaginary, then that money will be worthless. Why do you think central banks play up how vital and in-control they are? If people realize it's a con, all their riches vanish.

I built mine a couple/few years ago.

Once you buy the rivet jig, shop press (buy a used American made one), and other small jigs and tools it's pretty easy. It helps to have a mill and a lathe though.

I start with 80% heat treated blanks these days, from childersguns dot com, best fucking receivers I've ever seen.

if you are implying the fed is doing anything other than balancing the amount of money and money supply in our economy you're wrong. technically the fed deposits the money into bank accounts these days electronically and banks actually pay them back in cash. but in terms of creating new money out of thin air without any balancing going on, well if you think the fed is doing that you are talking about a conspiracy and should visit the alex jones forums or actually any pol thread, i guess this one will do.

"No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law; and a regular Statement and Account of Receipts and Expenditures of all public Money shall be published from time to time."
>>
>>81414476
>technically the fed deposits the money into bank accounts these days electronically and banks actually pay them back in cash
That isn't what happens. The Fed's open market operations (as well as regular bank lending practices) continually change the money supply at any given moment. Nor does the Fed need congressional approval when it does QE.

The Fed does not draw money from the Treasury, because the supply of money is not some fixed thing anymore.
>>
>>81413954
>That scope
Good luck hitting anything.
>>
>>81415209
>>81415209
besides the act of money literally being printed is done by the treasury and not the fed, the fed only lends money to banks which is repaid in cash. (that is what happens by the way, the fed depositing funds electronically etc i don't know what you do for a living but assuming it's not finance).

i like this site investopedia. it helps explain complex things to people who are generally ignorant to finance.

"The myth that the Federal Reserve prints money only became prevalent following the Great Recession when many were concerned about the unconventional policies of the central bank, which included intervention in the commercial paper market, mortgages and outright purchases of debt to keep the system from collapsing. By the end, the Federal Reserve expanded its balance sheet by nearly $4 trillion."

>>

I'm not talking about literally printing off bills. You understand that none of the money supply measures only count paper bills, right?

>the fed only lends money to banks
And when it issues loans, or makes purchases on the open market, it simply creates a credit entry on its balance sheet. The money it uses to do this is magicked out of nowhere.

If you work in the finance sector and you think that central banks do not increase and decrease the money supply as part of their operations, I suggest you find alternate employment as a janitor or something.

The casino is degenerate. Please come spend all your money here.

nothing good ever came from casinos

It's incredibly degenerate. Easy way to let a gambling addiction get started if you're prone to that.

Slots are best in terms of money lost/hr so long as you consistantly play the shit stakes. However they're ungodly boring and I have no idea why anybody plays them, never mind why they're a mainstay of every casino.

Learn to play blackjack well, baccarat well, or just play craps pass line/don't pass for table games. Those give you the best odds.

You should avoid going to casinos alone/playing online, know you much money per hour you can expect to lose which you can easily calculate, and set a limit for how much you're willing to lose in one go. That's best practice. I know when I play blackjack I'll lose on average about $7/hr playing at a 5 player table with 70 hands per hour at $10 a bet winning 99% of my money back by using good strategy. Doesn't cost any more than going to a movie theater on average if you're smart, but there is always that risk of sliding into degeneracy and gambling addiction, and of course you can always have a bad night.

I fucking love gambling but I've made more money from it then I've lost by avoiding casinos and spending time playing games I can actually beat like unraked home poker games. If you're going to go on your own, I would do it as some sort of special treat, maybe for a special occasion or you just landed a job or whatever.
>>
I can't emphasize enough how much I don't understand slots. You are either betting so little money that it's boring as shit, or betting enough that you could be having way more fun and losing way less money at a table. Why the fuck are they so popular?

I mean I understand having a few out there for people less "into" gambling but holy shit.

I'd recommend a beginner learn this blackjack strategy which gives you 0.14% less of an edge compared to perfect blackjack non-counting strategy, assuming vegas strip rules. It however is far easier to remember, it's what I show my friends if I invite them to play blackjack.

I cannot think of a more plebeian way of wasting one's money.

Rich people do not go to casinos. I was at Black Hat last year in Vegas and did the Facebook party black tie mixer at the Wynn and I noticed a few things:
1) Ferrari dealership out front
2) Loads of rich people partying and dancing in clubs
3) Casino floor empty.

Why is this? Because the house ALWAYS wins. I never see James Bond or the like in the casino, it's always some trashy plebe.
