When we stepped into EU, the EU parliament made us either shut down or sell our exports to other countries, Komēta, mani Gotiņa factories and so on and so forth. Drug usage and general criminal instability sky rocketed both during the 90's and after joining the EU.
Our country sells its own exports to other, like Poland, just so that they could sell those goods back to us at double price.
Rīgas Balzāms makes rum, which workers of the factories sell to those who they know, I buy it from time to time, but RB doesn't have any rum officially. We sell it to other countries so that they can sell it back to us as export material for a higher price.
