Since the announcement of Mike Pence as the VP selection, /pol/ (rightfully) has become critical of statements he has made in the past including (as usual), spreading misinformation.
One of the biggest issues today is Islam; this is without a doubt. However Mike has changed to adapt to his President.
Mike Pence did in-fact originally disagree with Trump about the temporary ban on Muslims, but this didn't mean he was pro-muslim refugees/migrants.
Mike Pence actually had tried to block the federal government's refugee resettlement program for the state of Indiana, but unfortunately had failed after a judge told him to suck it.

Recently and probably due to current events (eurotruck simulator slayer), Mike Pence is now backing Trump's proposal on the temporary ban of muslims.

Combined with the negotiation titan that is Donald Trump, they will most likely cook up some magic. The TPP is good in the sense that is puts restrain on China which is important to Trump & Pence. The problem with the TPP is that it gives a ton of deals to the other countries in the Pacific such as Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Peru, and Brunei Darussalam. Since it's going to be a large scale NAFTA, expect American layoffs & outsourcing.

This law allows individuals and companies to assert that their exercise of religion has been, or is likely to be, substantially burdened as a defense in legal proceedings. Pence is tired of the LGBT nazis and has repeatedly told them to fuck off (in a more professional manner).
Pro-gay organizations such as NCAA, Apple, Subaru, Salesforce, and Angie's List all lost their collective shits because of this.
Be advised, the left will use this bill as evidence that businesses will discriminate against fags which is NOT the case. No one really would because they would lose business which isn't your business goals in a capitalist market. This bill is to protect religious businesses from the weaponized faggots who try to get litigation-happy like what we saw in Oregon.

Pence signed into law the House Enrolled Act 1235 which reinstating a 10-year mandatory minimum prison term for a person convicted of dealing meth or heroin who has a prior conviction for cocaine, meth or heroin dealing.

Pence also signed Senate Enrolled Act 290, classifying as a drug dealer any person caught with 28 grams of a controlled substance or more than 10 pounds of marijuana, even if there is no other evidence the person is selling drugs.
In addition, he approved Senate Enrolled Act 80, authorizing pharmacists to deny the sale of cold medicines containing pseudoephedrine — a key ingredient in methamphetamine — if the pharmacist believes the purchaser does not have a legitimate need for the drug.

Mike Pence is rated A by the NRA, and that should give you all you need to know. But here's just a quick view at his voting record:
Voted Yes on prohibiting product misuse lawsuits on gun manufacturers
Voted Yes on prohibiting suing gunmakers & sellers for gun misuse
Pence signed H.R.197&S.845
This bill stablishes a national standard for the carrying of concealed firearms (other than a machinegun or destructive device) by non-residents. Authorizes a person who has a valid permit to carry a concealed firearm in one state and who is not prohibited from carrying a firearm under federal law to carry a concealed firearm in another state.
Pence signed H.RES.1365 which the NRA created the Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program which teaches children firearm safety.
Pence co-sponsored Firearms Interstate Commerce Reform Act which seeks to loosening restrictions on interstate gun purchases. This has NOT passed yet and has been referred to the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations.
My personal assessment is that Trump's interest in Pence is that he's on-board with Trump's immigration plan now but Trump wants someone that's not a total complete disaster of a cuckservative neo-con like Newt, Ted, Jeb, et al.
Newt is nice when it comes to debating, but having him as a VP pick would be a disaster. I believe one of you posters coined:

Mike Pence is a very conservative guy which can conflict with Trumps liberal viewpoints in areas.
Since Mike Pence isn't a complete disaster of a politician, I think he's actually a good choice.
Men like Carson, Gingrich, Flynn, and Christie would be better suited as cabinet positions. Flynn would be a great choice for VP in my opinion. I wish Trump went that route but I can foresee Flynn making it into the cabinet
