I've slept the last 6 hours, can someone give me a tl;dr of the developments in Turkey?
Is military still in control of Ankara?
Is there still mass propaganda?
Is it actually over?

Bump
>I've slept the last 6 hours
same
>Ankara?
I thought rebels had full control over Ankara but media says it's taken back from police force

Militray attempted coup
Seems to have initially failed
Erdogan blames it on gulen movement
probably staged by erdogan
military coups are pretty regular in T*rkey, might be counter-coup wait and watch.
The coup was made by a small amount of militaries. 106 of them reported dead now.
Mass propaganda will never stop.
A naval ship a a turkish uh60 deserted to greece. Some shots and explosions are heard some hours ago.
For now, I would say its over.

It's all ogre.
Erdogan won.
It is over, the rebel forces have been suppressed and hundreds are being executed as we speak. Some officers came to our borders with a heli and asked for asylum, -But are being shipped back to Constantinople as we speak. Truly a shame...

Turkey has execution?
Two questions for /pol/
Will the relationship with NATO be changed?
How will this affect Turkey's EU bid?
I still don't understand why they surrendered.
It is more than clear that they'll be executed either by policeforce or Pro-Erdogan people.
You either fight to death or do nothing at all.

I can answer
>How will this affect Turkey's EU bid?
It won't. Turkey will never get into EU, only one country has to block them and the hate towards Turks in Europe is strong.

nah. the top (the generals and colonels) might be but the soldiers won't. military service is mandatory in Turkey, so they will likely be spared.
All is lost. Turkey is officially a middle eastern islamist shithole. We could have saved our country but we failed.

No.

Relations with USA and Nato wont change whether Erdoğan or the army in in power.
>How will this affect Turkey's EU bid?
It is a joke now. Relations with EU would be much more better with a secular government.

Majority of Army supported Erdoğan. Rebels should have arrest the generals who are not side with them. But they didnt even tried to do so. Therefore every general ordered for their surrender on TV.

This is exacly what whappened yesterday.

The lower enlisted men wont matter much when Erdogan crams more loyalist officers in place of the officers that rose up against him. Whether it was a legitimate attempt or a successful honey pot trap against the opposition, it will be used as an excuse to further secure power for Erdogan.
