The latest release the Phantom Pain touched on two topics which might become more apparent in the future, language and private platforms in international waters.
We'll probably be hearing more about these platforms in the years to come as they get more popular the same way drones did.
As for the language bit, maybe the appropriation of one culture by another, I'm thinking Anglo Christian bigots appropriating the Christian legacy for themselves through things like the KJO movement and other strands of Christianity being increasingly forgotten.

the dude just literally copied stuff from introduction course in media studies and none of it is particularly "mindblowing" either, rhetoric, memes, discourse, ideology and concept of power as topics have been beaten to death in the field

I swear if you people stop making fun of social sciences maybe one day you'll learn a thing or two from liberal arts
>>
>>81276540
You think they teach that IN media studies? I had to learn that (but not quite what you are alluding to) OUTSIDE of media studies. Peers and professors always looked at me like i was taking things too seriously. It's a very important subject, but not taught with any vigor. I hated it.
You have examples of where it is taught correctly?

Outer Heaven is founded on turning cultural distinctions into instruments of standardized control. Populations are stratified according to variations in their lingual proficiency and duly integrated into the Boss' military-industrial system of control. A Babylonic social order beuracratizing the capacity for mutual intelligibility within and between groups reaches an equilibrium of efficiency when each individual node in the social network is ambivalent towards its own mutual intelligibility with the rest of the system as a whole.

Total disintegration of collective identity allows people to become the human equivalent of Turing's Chinese-speaking machine.

I think the field of study that deals in proving theorems of computational logic expressing high-level abstractions is where the serious study of that subject gets done. Not sure what exactly the field would be called in liberal arts terms.

I've had this weird feeling that ANY other country than UK and US (and obviously some other certain western european countries) does not suffer from the "our liberal arts/social science faculty is fucking shit and infested with retards", which is why I'm tempted to believe that's the entire reason behind this stereotype that /pol/ keeps buying into that it is useless

half the time when I follow discussions on here, the answer to how solve almost all of the issues you have with the world can only be found in these very fields that are so corrupted in the west/english dominant countries

and now i put on my tinfoil hat

>You have examples of where it is taught correctly?
well, this may come as no surprise but in Netherlands liberal arts faculties are really autistic about keeping these things "rigorous" and "critical" so half of the feminist shit doesn't fly as well here (it's hard to argue bullshit when you are supposed to have read like 800 pages on the topic and you look like a fool when you haven't - all liberals suffer from a painful intellectual superiority complex so they can't risk appearing looking dumb, but don't worry you won't escape the feminists and commies either way)

>>
>>81281053
Literally this, shit like this has happened before and will continue to happen.
>>
>>81280834
it's not as much as save the world as the matter of the topic that you study

can you figure out how to solve religious tensions using math? no? how about chemistry? see the problem? social science/liberal arts fields deal with society, people, language, all the stuff you take for granted

when your field of study gets occupied by absolute idiots who then hijack it to use the theories that attempt to describe the world in order to change it you start getting people like marxists, and it doesn't matter if it's math or sociology it will look ugly

lib arts have a lot lower entrance though so they are the first to suffer - hard sciences follow eventually as you can see in US
>>
>>81278797
Everything in this post demonstrates that the cardinal truths of each individual NEITHER clash NOR mesh. Your (((observation))) of a transitioning consensus is the egotistic narrative of your own political "development" being projected onto the cesspool of society at large. The 'truths' you and every other anon leaks from their respective little ponds of impression onto 4chan constitute the accumulating digital refuse of humanity's collective unconscious which GW is condemning.
>>
>>81271092
These just seem like vague things that probably were an attack on the "pc" culture of 90 that attacked video games, music etc. for being violent/anti-christian. Kojima is a lefty cuck. His new game forces you to safe nigger kids in Africa and the mission fails if you kill one.

do you bother reading what i write? am i wasting my time here?

for the your sake so you might at least think about this topic a little harder here:
you have three layers of organization
a) politics (e.g. left, lib v. right, conservative)
b) universities (which can be politically aligned and/ or)
c) and faculties (the people that actually teach and organize the courses)

now returning to your scepticism of CT and CR (return to the previous post where I make a distinction between theories that describe the world and those that are used as tools, which one do you think CT started off was? why do you dislike CT in the first place other than how it is used?) how do you think the various levels can make the rest of them political? political regimes influence universities, who in turn tell faculties what they can do

the faculties, courses and universities are inherently apolitical (or are supposed to be) so at some level somebody has to make it political from above or by infiltration, what /pol/ does is makes the mistake conflating political ideologies with universities and various faculties

tl;dr because i cant be bothered to continue writting an essay - STEM is no more conservative than Liberal Arts and Lib arts are no more liberal than STEM; they're both taught by people who choose a political affiliation and mingle it with their work in this case education

STEM builds us machines and tools to make life better, Liberal arts teaches us what a better life is in the first place - /pol/ talks about social issues and proposes hard solutions for soft problems and vice versa
>>
>>81281449

When one leading idea is replaced by another I'd say that's an example of said ideas clashing.

Of course /pol/ is a right wing echo chamber. The redeeming factor is that people with right-wing (at least this kind of right-wing) opinions have already had to go through the steps of challenging held dogmas and beliefs by being exposed to facts never reported in the mainstream. Liberals and leftists have had everything parroted to them. CNN and Jon Stewart has already told them what to think and what to feel, and they've never had cause to back up these beliefs with facts. That's why when they come here all they're equipped with is one-liners and shaming tactics. They never needed anything else before.

To a certain extent that's true. But when I make serious posts I usually get more serious posts fired back at me than just people calling me Jewish or whatever. I doubt you'd get that on that SRS reddit.

I also see others thoughtful posts about Islam, the history of Islamism get some decent responses other than 'GTFO reddit'.

There is definitely an echo chamber here though, mostly coming from die hard Trump supporters.

In my eyes the only real MGS games are 1-3. PW-V are some side story bullshit Kojima made because the fans and Konami pressured him into a series he had no passion for.

hope you're joking. the origins of the pc craze are firmly rooted in the pre-industrial american west. think buffalo bill and annie oakley.

I'm still really curious, why do people suppose that just because MGS4 and TPP were shit, that it means undeniably that the co writer for MGS1, 2, and 3, was single handedly responsible for them being """"written well"""? Nobody ever gibs evidence either when pressed.

kojima didn't have tomokazu fukushima (yes thats his real last name kek) helping him write is why
>>
>>81315628
So you just infer that? Nobody actually has any evidence of who wrote what and just wants to call Kojimbles a hack as a sort of deflection mechanism for not liking the new Metal Gears?
