Because US military is filled with retarded government slaves who were demoralized and believe only the government gives them meaning.

how is obama at all communist, he didn't even try for REAL socialized medicine let alone anything else.
>>
>>81253463
The lack of representation of common, not super rich people, and the complete merger of the wealthy and the politically powerful. SuperPACs, Citizens United, Hillary's existence, etc. A thing that won't change based on whoever you vote for.

I speak specifically about US, but the situation is the same all over the west. Doesn't necessarily call for a coup so much as citizen intervention.

Shitting on the constitution.
Being controlled by foreigners and not the citizenry.
Giving control of the currency of the PEOPLE into private hands.
Allowing banks to have power over the production of the people.
Shaping and undermining the peoples will with massive propaganda via the educational and media system.
Being anti-european for decades.
Being a multi racialist regime.

Allowing millions of homeless.
Undermining all thoughts and wills of the people that goes against the democratic owners will.
Going against the interests of Americans and causing our deaths for foreigners benefit.

The right you're defending was made at a time when people lived in isolated farming societies with nothing but muskets to protect them w/out a national guard or a police force. Also, considering the context of their own revolution against a tyranical government, it meant to keep the knowledge within the citizens that the power of the gov derived from them, so they could remove the gov if it became undemocratic. It had nothing to do with your shitty fucking hobby of shooting walls or jacking off to your arsenal.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
This document is dated from the 1700s, and reflects such. Are you a part of a well regulated militia for the security of your state? No? Because we have a national guard now, such a militia is no longer necessary as we have government forces. Obviously for a militia to work, people would need arms. No needed militia means no needed weapons in the hands citizens, so then we can keep them out of the hands of criminals, the mentally ill, and serial killers.

They don't.

At this point its beyond a vote, but the military is directly in the pocket of the gov. like evrerything is. Even our labor unions, the crowning achievment of our ancestors as a means to oppose the 1% (not of just the wealthy, but politically elite) are now no more than fancy intrest groups showered in money. We have nothing left to fight with, we are stuck, until we can somehow persuade normal shmucks into being willing to do something. Hard to do when we have random glamours amenities around us, but whatevs. I guess when all the fish die in about 50 yrs (look it up, it is going to happen if things don't change) we'll have to get over it on our iPhones while the rich get richer as fuck.

Socialism- a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

The Democrat platform is the most leftist it has ever been because of Bernie easing socialism into the minds of young people so Hillary and other Democrats are going more to the left.

Don't isolate that phrase. It clearly is missing out half of what they say. What about the regulated militia? Look at the other Admendments, the aren't that specific of laws, more so generalized, so why would this JUST be about guns? It wouldn't. It's about opposition to the government and protection of the citizens. Where a militia is no longer needed, the citizens need not always be armed.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State"

COMMA

"the right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

They deliberately separated militia from people, as two distinct, discreet things. That comma indicates two different clauses. You can argue what makes a militia a militia-- are they the police, the National Guard, or whatever-- but the fact remains that the Second Amendment specifies that the right of "the people" to own-- and carry, by the way, which is what "bear" means, if you hadn't figured that out-- firearms is absolute.

Yeah, that's fair. Election tampering is a huge concern, and the Electoral College system no longer functions as originally intended. The fact is that the votes in one county in Ohio and several in Florida matter more than any cast in New York, California, or Texas, just by virtue of population distribution.

>>81259412
The fuck are they in the same amendment for? The first amendment discusses several different ideas all relating to free speech.
The second amendment regard the security of citizens from anything contesting the security of a free state. People are in the militia, thus why they are both mentioned. Since the Militia exists, the people need guns. And a militia-- civilian soliders, if you hadn't figured that out, not a national guard-- is made up of people that would need guns in order for it to function in any meaningful way.

It's not, and New England and New York are bitter rivals in almost everything. We'd never unify with New York just because it's next to us. That's like saying Texas will unify with California just because they're sunny.

I have insurance, nice try though.
Ask doctors how they feel about it, they get shafted for medical supplies at ridiculous prices which makes costs increase.
If a hospital isn’t able to negotiate good terms for their supplies, then inevitably these costs get passed along to payers and patients alike. And since many providers negotiate with commercial payers based on what Medicare pays you can see the overall impact on healthcare spending.

Everything is fine the way it is though, right?

Very true. It HAS upheld and supported this general argument throughout the centuries though.

I'm not saying if it's correct or the decisions can't change. Per the checks and balances system that the founding fathers implemented, the interpretation of the constitution falls under the rule of the Supreme Court.

Incorrect. The fact that the votes in some places matter more than others is an intentional part of the design of the Constitution, because the small states were afraid that Virginia and New York would buttfuck them if votes were evenly distributed. In fact, the current policy is MUCH closer to even voting power than the framers intended - the original system permitted states to impose property requirements to vote, and allowed the 'votes' of people who were not legally allowed to vote to magnify the votes of the states where their owners lived.

You aren't wrong, but you do see how this is awful now, right? The population differences back in colonial era were completely different from the pop difference of Wyoming and Calli.
Besides, the primary process, which is completely a private thing, has literally no reason to be democratic and is not in anyway shape or form making the general election irrelevant anyway in terms of representing the people.

Look at this board. More than half the fuckers here think Trump, a billionaire conman who got where he is with daddy's money and contacts, will be an end to the rule of the elites. Now realize that half of the rest of the country is even dumber. This is why shit won't change; the system is rigged and the elite are too good at playing groups that could unite and challenge them in some small part against each other.
>>
>>81266161
Thank you. I'm honestly surprised that his board ran to suck Trump's dick. Sure, he isn't the status quo of Hillary, but he's the symbol of building a bridge between the gap of super rich and high ranking political positions. If this line is crossed it shows that the American people are willing to let this small group of the immensely powerful be completely combined into being the richest and most influential in policy making. Too much is on the line for our leaders to only have to care about money, our environment is collapsing, terror attacks are almost daily now, and with nationalism on the rise, conflicts it may produce could be used for profit.

Is this becoming the most woke board in /pol/ history

I'm not saying every stupid thing was *POPULAR*. I'm saying most people doing stupid things do so because it seemed like a good idea at the time. Going against the interests of Americans is an abstract concept that can be applied to *anything* someone doesn't like.

>Electoral college isn't right for US-2016
I agree with you on that one.

The primaries aren't mandated by the Constitution, but they aren't forbidden either - if a majority of us objected, we could elect people who didn't come from the party primary process, or change the primary process to be more representative of the populace. California's done the latter for our internal primary elections and it looks like it's helping a bit.

With the advent of the internet, the way the two parties use the mainstream media to monopolize the elections can potentially be subverted.

>Electoral college isn't right for US-2016
Can you guys elaborate. I've heard people say this a lot but the electoral college usually votes along their representative districts. One benefit of it is that it gives more weight to less populous states.

What is your idea of a different system? A direct election?

I don't disagree with the Constitution being applicable, as our founding fathers did an exemplary job. However, the Industrial Revolution and the rise of a super rich class (not just the wealthy that naturally come with capitalism- I mean ungodly rich and only caring for money super rich) is something no one from an era of farming economies could have predicted, so an update is not out of the question for the words of our forefathers. As for leaving the UN, eh I think that may be a different argument.

>>81267092
>I'm not saying every stupid thing was *POPULAR*
Okay, that's fair. I think that people did want some sort of war after, say, 9/11 as some sort of retribution. Not necessarily a war in Iraq, but I get what ya sayin.
As for the primaries I mean they aren't forbidden, but they are clearly not democratic and are inhibiting the American's right to choose so they need to be abolished as actually getting enough people to vote third party/independent would just ruin whatever party your branching off from.
Honestly, I don't anything about internal CA politics, but maybe we could mirror something similar federally?

I don't agree with the autist that he's a communist, but you obviously have no idea how guns function, nor have knowledge of the second amendment.

Assault rifles are virtually banned in the USA. They have selective fire capabilities and have been virtually impossible to obtain.

The second amendment has always granted the right to all men of the United States. Essentially its purpose was to establish a fundamental right of the people to keep and bear arms, and to establish well regulated militias should they need them (well regulated at the time meant well equipped and in good working order).

Furthermore, all founding fathers: Thomas Jefferson, Hamilton, Adams, Mason etc, are all quoted clarifying that the right of every person to own arms is a given, and reinforced those sentiments by making a bill of rights including that.

So yes, every person has the right to keep and bear arms.

Why do less populous states need more weight? That made more sense at the time of the Revolution, when inter-state mobility was poor, but as it is I could totally go to Nevada if I wanted.

A direct election would be superior, IMO - probably with an open primary so we'd have a chance to go 'MUH CONSCIENCE' followed by 'ugh, lesser evil' instead of the current one where we go from rabid pandering to the base to ugh lesser evil.

>>81267703
The rise of the super-rich wasn't a surprise - IIRC Washington funded a large chunk of the Federal government out of his personal fortune, and on the Loyalist side the power structure was stacked full of *feudal nobility*, many of whom were quite wealthy themselves.

We might be able to wedge a better Presidential primary through piecemeal through state-level legislation, since the Presidential primaries are controlled by state law. IIRC there's already a project to enact national popular vote on a state-by-state level - pass laws binding electors to vote according to the national popular vote, that will take effect once a majority of the electors are bound by such law. I think Vermont or Maine or someone splits their electoral votes to approximate the state popular vote, which would also take us closer to a real popular vote.

(To some degree, the electoral college is also a workaround for slow communication and the assumption that there will be widespread geographic variance - if you expect the 2000 election to be 30% Dem, 30% Rep, 20% Lib, 20% Green, with whole states throwing themselves to green or lib or dem or rep, then having a bunch of party representatives meet and hash out a compromise makes sense... and sounds suspiciously similar to how the Brits pick their PM IIRC.)
