I already wanted to do it since 2014 but now i'm really gonna buy guns this year.
Is this good?
I suggest others peoples to buy guns too.

What exactly are your laws over there? And do you live in a rural or urban area?

Are you allowed to own semi-automatic rifles?

You can own any semi-auto rifle with max capacity of 30 round magazine and 1000 ammos per guns I think.
10 mag also per guns.
The only problem is that the EU is trying to ban them...

Finally bought an AR a week before the Dallas shooting. They are now completely sold out and in backorder Hell.

Don't waste your time with a 5.56x45, extremely underwhelming tbqh. Literally any slavshit caliber will outperform. 5.56 is just a louder .22lr

If legal in your country get something in 7.62x39 (SKS is my fav) or 7.62 NATO.

Thing is I don't know what you can get in France (in terms of the market, not legality as I've read your previous posts) but In America BCM makes a high quality product for a very fair price. However, I don't know if they export overseas... FN probably sells in France i'd imagine and they make M16's for the USMC.

Get FN if possible but you won't go wrong with Ruger. They certainly aren't terrible you could do a lot worse.

AR-15 is a good rifle.
AKs too - very durable. Almost indestructible.
SKS - as someone suggested - is also good. I'd take an SKS as second rifle, or a bolt action.

I have a Steyr AUG Z A3. Very durable. The barrel is built for eternity and it can fire under nearly all conditions. Cleaning kit and oil in Stock.

They can ban whatever they want - noone can take from you what they cannot find, or what you lost in a tragic boating accident.

Any quality AR will do. Ammo availability is going to be the deciding factor.

That first ruger AR-556 is fine, and a better choice than the mini-14's.

I personally prefer the AK platform based on design philosophy, but what is really the deciding factor is where you are going to get more ammo from. Since your government uses 5.56, I'd go with that.

Short Barrel - lighter rifle and more compact to handle.

Mid Barrel - compromise (before taking this I'd always take the long barrel)

Long barrel - makes best use of the gas preassure. Looks even more threatening. Weighs a bit more.

If you go for AUG Z - get a better charging handle. The original one is the only flaw of the AUG. It is too small, especially when wearing winter gloves.

>>81150267
>Honestly prices isn't a problem, i'm just thinking that they will ban them.

Well, then yours got 'stolen'. What a shame.

Look you're not allowed to use your weapon for defensive purposes anyway, so the whole point is to have a weapon to defend yourself with when the law doesn't mean anything anymore.

If they ban them, will it be a 'buyback' program where they pay you for your banned weapon (out of your own taxes, fucking lol), or will you have to forfeit it with no compensation?

If it's the former, then buy it. There is a chance you may be grandfathered in, or you might just have to convert your semi auto AR into a straight pull AR by blocking the gas tube, and convert your 30 round magazines into 10 round magazines by putting a rivet in them. Both quickly and easily reversible procedures should the situation warrant breaking the law for your own protection.

There are states here with various gun restrictions, and there are always ways around them.

Get the AR, worst comes to worst they ban semi autos, and you convert it to be a manual action, or get your money back in a buyback and buy something else, or lose it in a tragic boating accident or whatever the french equivalent is.
>>
>>81150959
>I never hold one, but I like the look of the AR15 thats look like M16.

I do too, that is what my AR is modeled off of but I built mine instead of buying it.

Most AR's you'll find are of the M4 type and each has their own advantages but most would say overall the M4 is less of a hassle to carry around. rifle-length (M16-like) AR have the benefit of longer sight-radius, better parts durability (because of longer gas system) and more projectile velocity but the last one is considered minor. Also the rifle length AR's are very slightly quieter but you'll probably be unable to tell the difference.

Either the M16 or M4, both are very lightweight.

For home defense you want a SHOTGUN

Hear me... a SHOTGUN buddy.

I was going to suggest skipping 5.56mm and getting 7.62mm NATO but that will overpenetrate easily (shoot through people and walls). And those guns are mighty expensive even in the states.

Also a Shotgun is Pump Action so its not semi-automatic, and it has viable purposes as a hunting tool so it would be the last item that they would ban.

12 Gauge, thats about 18 millimeters wide, and you want to make sure to get one thats a "3.5" inch magnum. So that way it can handle --any-- of the shotgun shells that exist for 12 Gauge.

For self defense you want to get Buckshot style shells, and really any of the shotgun shells that say Buckshot will do the job nicely (for these the pellets inside range from 6mm to 9mm in size).

These will incapacitate just about anybody with a good shot at about 25-50 meters. Closer than that even a grazing shot will usually put someone down while a good shot will kill them instantly.

Yeah but I think he's speaking about home defense and close range. I sincerely do not think he's talking about suppressive fire or shooting back at snipers 300 meters away.

And if thats the case an AR15 will do... but a Shotgun will do someone with 1 Shot. And usually you get at least 3 and its pretty quick to stick at least 1 shell in (and the sturdy heavy simple frame of a shotgun makes for an excellent head busting tool to give you time to put 1 shell in it)

I mean technically if you're James Bond a .25acp will do since he's an assassin.

But even our pathetic police officers in the states cant shoot like James Bond. So they have to empty a whole glock magazine and make a bloody mess for the news.

Wow, didn't know this.

Go and buy 2 rifles: one double barreled shotgun 12ga and one bolt action rifle .308. Make sure you have a good scope on your rifle. Learn how to shoot them well. Learn how to shoot moving targets from afar with that rifle. Learn how to navigate in your home with the shotgun. Maybe join whatever hunters lobby there is in your country, since they have more influence than hobby shooters to keep their guns.

Suggest to your friends and family to do the same.

As average guy you won't be needing much more.

Simple problem with a simple solution.

a glock 19 will take 15, 17, or 33 round magazines, and the slightly smaller size really does make all the difference in the world when you are trying to conceal it.

If you are a cop or other law enforcement who wears a sidearm on their hip in plain sight, then the glock 17 makes sense. For everyone else who would have need to conceal their weapon, the 19 is better.

What are your laws like for self defence?

It's no good legally owning a gun when you couldn't use it for self defence. Not everywhere is burger tier.

It's like a dumb fellow bong said in here earlier, sure, he's right that some guns are legal here, shotguns etc, but they're only for the purpose of hunting or sport/pest control.

If you shot someone with one you're going to prison.

The law is important.

I can understand the pistol, if there's a way for you to carry it for self-defense. You have to check the law for that, but I somehow doubt that's allowed in France.

Straight pulls and variants are the answer. Eg vz58 Mars, gets round the semi auto ban. Pull trigger gun go bang and bolt locks back. Pull again and bolt releases and reloads. Rinse & repeat.

>>

If you buy a shotgun and if self defence laws are absolute shit in France, you can purchase non lethal rounds in the case that you need to defend yourself without putting yourself in trouble in the law. Though I am not sure if such ammo is availabe in France.
>>
>>81147067
I hate to be that faggot, but honestly go with an AR. You're sure to find the ammo for it in France more easily than 7.62. Also an AR is simply reliable, low maintenance, and has high shot control meaning you're not putting a lot of liability on yourself when you shoot. Gun feels good to hold, not heavy, and relatively easy to move around with. I've shot both AK's and AR's and both feel fine. Just ammo scarcity may be an issue in France for an AK.
>>
>>81152896
you should get a semi auto 5x56 NATO anything and all the ammo you can

mosinM44bayonet.jpg
47 KB, 640x416
This is the Mosin Nagant, one of the cheapest rifles in the world but also rather rugged and reliable. This one has a Bayonet on it for impaling people who think they can rush you while reloading.

It uses 7.62x54R ammunition which is a little bit stronger than the 7.62 nato round. In other words it'll halfway blow somebody in half.

It is accurate to upwards of 600 meters but you wouldn't want to use it farther than 300 meters. But you can be proud of the shots that you make with it at the range.

As a bolt action rifle its unlikely to be banned until last.

Also another word of caution - keep your Gun and Ammunition at home or within reach. Do not leave it at some shooting range gun club.

If there was an emergency and the authorities wanted to take the weapons away without saying anything they would go to a place like that and walk off with all of it.
>>
>>81153215

Bolt action rifles are typically chambered in cartridges that are FAR more powerful than semi auto or full auto military weapons.

This. I recommend the 19 as well. Very comfortable to hold and has plenty of capacity while not being fuckhuge like a glock 17 or a beretta 92.

Carry is illegal sadly.
Even the fact that we store our guns in a safe seem to be not enough to make liberals anti guns feel safer.
They want total ban.

Can you tell me what the difference is between that rifle and the one given to your squaddies please burger?

Often hear you guys mock people who refer to that rifle as an 'assault rifle' and I really don't get it. Seems to be precisely what it is and that's what they call it in the military.

Is it just a full auto thing? Aren't there states in the U.S. where you can have full auto anyway?

Actually I would agree with this setup too.

44 magnum Revolver
That will stop somebody with 1 shot.

but make sure that its fitted to use Speed Loader Strips, these are like the speed strips that the old british Webley pistols used if you're more familiar with that.

It keeps the bullets together in a clump so that they can be quickly reloaded.

It doesnt load as fast as a magazine but its six times faster than placing each bullet in the revolver.

AR-10 variants aren't bad, they're just not as modular as AR-15's are, which is one of the main draws of an AR. If it's way more affordable, go for it.

I kinda doubt that's legal here. We're pretty liberal (for Euro standards) in Austria when it comes to shotguns and rifles, but once lasers, mufflers, other add-ons get mentioned = ohnoes!!!

Ruger AR-556 cost roughly 300 euros less in here.

Can you even buy that shit? I thought gun laws in your country are pretty heinous.

The military versian can fire burst/full auto. The civilian version is only semi auto. That is literally the only difference.

If it can only fire semi auto then it is not an assault rifle. It does look exactly like one though.

There are fewer restrictions on the kind of weapons allowed but there are pretty harsh rules on training. You can't keep a gun if you can't prove you go to the range a minimum number of times per year to remain proficient.
