Non-stop sales the week following the orlando shooting. On average I usually sell no more than 5 ARs in a week, but that week I sold around 15 a day until we were sold out, then sold AKs until those were gone, but sales slowed after all the gun legislation fell through with congress.

Since then though, ammo sales have been most of our transactions.

Only state I know of that requires background checks on ammo will be California starting next year. But no background check is required to get your gun back from a smith.

>>81077383

We don't buy used where I work, but when I worked at a normal gun store a year or so ago, we got nogs in all the time trying to sell their problem solvas, or asking to look at AKs (which was what they called every rifle with a detachable mag).

Now that all my customers are military, most blacks are respectful, but always invariably ask to see the Hi Points and S&W SDVE. They also do this weird thing where they shake the gun, then grab their chin, making a "hmm" sound, like they've determined the quality by rattling the firearm. No other races do it, it's the damndest thing.

We asked him to leave, but he came back a few weeks later and stole some ammo.

Do you think that you bear any responsibility if you sold someone a gun he or she later used in the commission of a crime?

You're the one who made the dangerous item available for the person. In my opinion you do share a degree of culpability.

The 2nd amendment was written so that people would have guns to fend off a British invasion. That was the intent. You're just an opportunist, no better than a drug dealer. Selling something bad to people, harming lives, just to make a profit.

I called the local fun shop in my new town anticipation of a my move out of NYC, and asked about price and what I needed to bring to buy a 12 Mossberg 590 for hunting and HD, and he recommended a 20g. I was a little surprised by this as I am a male in my 30's, but he said due to the recoil. I have not shot since I was in middle school rifle club with a .22... Anyway, while I plan to shoot before I buy at their range, is a 12g really too much recoil, or does he think I am just some pussy from NYC who would be scared after firing it?

A .308 AR is an AR-10, not 15, which is where our shock at the price came from. $1500 would be the cost of a mid-high end AR10, But I've sold DPMS ones for $835, and I'd trust those with my liberty if need be.

Then I would advise you get something in .308. You've got big animals, and hopefully long distances between you and the enemy in a montana SHTF, .308 will help with both.

>>81080741

basically had to be as polite as possible saying shit like "sorry, but legally we can't sell you a firearm," while being ready to grab the gun on my hip if I had to.

Barrett Bolt-action .50 BMG rifle for like $7,000. Buyer was a little old asian dude, whose first question after buying it was "what are some ranges around here where I can shoot this?"

how the fuck are you going to spend that much on a gun and not know where you're going to shoot it?
>>
>>81080452

This guy is selling people weapons. There is a big difference in knowledge and intent here.

That's why I asked him if he feels like he shares any culpability if someone used a gun he sold in the commission of a crime. I contend that he would.

The OP knows that particular consequences may occur from selling guns to strangers in his community and proceeds with the given conduct anyway.

He's scum hiding behind plausible deniability and an amendment written so people could fend off a British invasion hundreds of years ago.

Im not OP, but if the same person called back in two months I would tell him to come down fill out the paperwork and do the same thing. I've done it before, not much you can do to help it along except go to walmart or gander and they'll sell you anything. Im not worried about some tweaker, you see, he has no gun.

No, same thing, though in some states it can be used in lieu of a NICS check.
>>
>>81082861
That's probably the case. I wasn't too informed then either so I didn't know any better. All I saw was a shorter Mauser that was in good shape and wasn't a WW2 K98 (Didn't want one because they were expensive and as someone new to the hobby I would have hated to ruin something historical). I've tried to become more knowledgeable since then
Thanks for the answer though.
>>
>>81083260

The M48 is still awesome though. It's 95% the same rifle as the K98. It was even made on the exact same machinery, which the soviets captured. Only real difference is in the stock

I feel like I did my gun buying in some kind of golden age....

I bought an M48 in good shape for like $195 back in 2003-4 ish.
I bought a half dozen M44s for 49.99 each.
2 K98ks for 175 and 220(had most of the toys)
My SKS(Which I've since sold because of the fucking SAFE act) was only $210 and it was in near perfect shape. And I got an all matching, Factory new 1942 Nugget with the full run of finish work done on it(it has all the brass and whatnot, not a rushed production stripped down gun) for $97.

SKS is banned under SAFE?
Why? What about a Garand?

God, I fucking hate this commie shithole. What rifles are NY legal that are worth buying. I don't want a cucked AR.

how hard is it to get into the biz? after this tour i wanna open a gun store

i have good credit and a good amount saved up with a serious knowledge of firearms

>>81085758
Yeah, that surplus Slav shit was worth getting back then. 140 for a mosin and a spam can of ammo.

After the AWB expired around then, and what seemed to be an explosion of the survival/shtf fags it made everything sky rocket.

Fucking aks were 300 dollars too.

Not banned, but it had to be registered and rather than be on a list I just sold it.

Whats Hilarious is that it didnt ban or require registration on my Browning BAR LongTrac, which a is a Semi-Automatic Mag fed .30-06, Pic related.

SKS is an Antique with an effective range of about 300 meters, firing a capable but low power round. Buts is SCURRY cus it has a flash hider and a folding bayonet.

KBI SA2000m, Gets around all the Ban/Reg requirements, fires from 10round mags which are not interchangable with regular AK mags. It doesnt have any scary dangerous assault parts for as far as the law is concerned its a hunting rifle.

It wasn't hard at all where I live, I can't speak for other states.

Have the capital to start up. Do what your ioi tells you to, specifically do paperwork how they want it.
Overall the ATF has been nice to me always.

Manufacturing ARs has been good money for me, I didn't have a great experience with strictly being a dealer. Competition from online is a bitch.
