I wonder how many people right now only really half believe these things.
And it's only going in one direction. Terror attacks where 80 people die cause massive damage to people's perceptions of Islam. How many people was Orland the last straw for? Or Bataclan, or Charlie Hebdo? There are no huge events on this scale that will cause people to have a positive opinion of Islam. Yes, people will share stories of "Oh, this one muslim helped an old lady" or whatever. But these don't compare at all. Of course, there are people who will never stop believing, but as time goes on people will become more and more polarised.
