I have been on 4chan since atleast 2008, possibly earlier, so 8-9 years. I remember when /b/ wasn't entierly shit, it used to be about raids, rigging online polls, more than 60 percent of the threads had some sort of discussion, and most importantly as the title of /b/ suggest, random things, it is now not random, it is now cam threads, dick rating and trolls trolling trolls. This is representative of the decline of a lot of other boards, there used to be a common theme, now there isn't.
Why is this? I have a theory that 4chan just became too popular(see attached google trends pic https://www.google.co.uk/trends/explore#q=4chan), appeared in the news one too many times, too many normalfags decided to have a peak. After they decided to have a peak, they saw the most popular board, that it was "lol so randum!!11eleventy" and didn't pick up on any of the subtle irony and didn't stay long enough to get the in jokes before they started posting.
/pol/ /g/ and /sci/ are a some of the only remaining good boards. They don't hate the others as much as they hate /pol/ though, so why is this? As I said all of the normies, with their normie political opinions started posting before they could take the red pill, and so they are genuinely offended by our opinions. The last bastion of oldfags and redpilled newfriends is /pol/.

I hate seeing "Greetings /k/omerades, /pol/ here..." threads, because basically, when you guys come over, it's because some happening is going on and you tend to ask extremely dumb newfag tier questions + the fact that when a happening is going on, guns go up in price, so helping dumb newfags in such a case is counter productive to our own needs.
It's kinda like how some of the gayer faggots on /out/ hate /k/ because of our lot's penchant for talking about milsurp fieldcraft gear (which is inferior in most cases to civilian gear, but is cheap so people hype it up), and focusing on guns vs. bear spray for animal defense.
Basically, you don't know our hobby, and you immediately announce that you're a crossboarder who has some specific (and probably ephemeral) interest in getting into it.
If you were to stop announcing that you're /pol/ish and have some more tact in asking question (i.e. ask about things in general terms and not "what's the best gun for the chimpocalypse"), I think you'd get better results.
