an easier way would be simply to read it in your language along with an explanation book in order to understand the context of the stories and such. Try using Ibn Katheer or Ibn Abbas explanation, these are the most popular ones. A lot of Arabs read Quran with an explanation book.

I tried reading it a while ago, but I never made it past Sura 5 or 6. Why? Because it's boring as fuck! It's a bloody sermon. And it repeats itself over and over and over again.
