>not having free community college

literally why not?

Student Loans don't give me enough to survive on, as a Full Time Student.

After tuition costs, my student loan spending money for the year is $4,750...Even though my total bills for the year is $14928.

WHAT THE FUCK! If college money was free I'd at least have the full $9,500 that I was given for the year..Still short, but I'd find a way to come up with the extra $5,000.

In a perfect world, full time students should have free college, free housing, and free fucking food, with free public transportation. Do these fucking retarded politicians not understand the immense MONEY BACK that would be given back to the economy, when we get our good jobs with this education?

Literally how am I supposed to survive?
>>

CC used to be free a couple decades ago, you can thank massive staff for the cost to have risen. Still though, most states will pay for your classes through a fee waiver and then give you the pell grant which is around $5,500 a year to attend classes full time.
>>

oh please, shitty or not it's not like high school is hard, and is there for you to have the opportunity to get scholarships to colleges free of charge

College was created for higher education, not babying you and teaching you how to do your job.

Most people should be in trade school, they should never step foot in a college. If you had your way you'd need a doctorate to become a janitor

You go to school part time and work at the same time. I'm sorry, you can't be a full time student. Should have done better in school to get scholarships.

And before you call me privileged or born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I worked full time and went to school almost full time. I didn't even take out loans when I was in community college. If you can't figure this out, you're not meant for college, you're meant to flip burgers, and serve them to people like me.

>>80823974
>Dude I wouldn't even be in this dire situation if those cock suckers GAVE ME ENOUGH FUCKING MONEY TO SURVIVE ON FUCK!

Which is wrong. In the civilized world, they allow you to be a full time student. Only in countries like America, and countries in Africa will they not allow this

>Should have done better in school to get scholarships.

I was on route to take over my dad's job, which netted $70,000+ a year. But decided not to only recently. Didn't need college for that

>Yeah, I bet you want a "free" handout, because you don't understand the value of hard work.

two things.

a. i'm talking about student loans. That's not free money, clearly you've never been to college lol.

b. only in shithole countries do they make you do this in the first place
>>

>>
>>80824141
Not many. Off the top of my head 4-5 per term. It ain't hard nigger. You can either be a full time student and fall flat on your face or suck it up and be a part time student. Ironically I still work at that warehouse, instead I'm now I make $75k a year with benefits and various bonuses depending on how well we do with profits. I live in Northwest Georgia so cost of living is dirt cheap. My apartment is only $550 a month and they subsidize my electric up to $60 a month. I have so much cash I don't even know what to do with it.
>>
>>80824312
> That's not free money, clearly you've never been to college lol.

My MBA says differently. My job doesn't even require a college degree.

>i'm talking about student loans.

Then take out more. If you didn't have a credit card when you were 16/18, to help build credit, you dun fucked up. But its entitled little shits like you that make me hope socialists never get elected. I was 100% serious about preferring to throw my money into the fire, than to help idiots like you pay for college.

>Which is wrong.

Subjective. There is no wrong and right about college. It's a privilege, a privilege that you don't seem to understand or even recognize.

>I was on route to take over my dad's job, which netted $70,000+ a year.

Then you should have done it and worked it for 5 years to save up money. This is your fault for not planning accordingly.

You didn't go to college lol. I'm taking three classes this Summer term, because three classes (12 credits) is the max that I'm even allowed to. 5 classes would be utter insanity, unless you're your studying we wuz kangz courses that is.

But the general point is this, regardless of how many classes you took and the work you did on the side, the point is:

In the civilized world, they don't put that added stress on your plate. Period.

>>80824661
>Then take out more.

THEY WON'T LET ME. I filed out my FAFSA (the thing you do to get student loans) and that's all they fucking gave me.

$9,500, half of which goes to college costs.

$4,750 to survive in a year, when total bills+living expenses equals to $14,928

You can see why I want to punch a baby.

I did it, about 75% of the students currently enrolled in any higher level education do it, and they come out fine. If you want to change anything, get a law degree, and go into politics.

>the amount Europeans pay in taxes is still less money than what we pay in college loans

When you tax everyone for a small percent of the population to attend college, of course it's going to be cheaper because the price is dispersed upon your fellow countrymen. But you're not considering the other forms of taxes that you will pay; which can be estimated to be exponentially more than college loans over a set period of time. From gas tax, sales tax, liquor tax (added on to sales tax), VAT taxes (luxury tax), income, and property taxes. These all drive up the cost of living.

>I'm moreso stressed at being able to have a roof over my head

I hate making suggestions that just send my tax money into the trash. But apply for SNAP/EBT benefits. If you live in a extra shitty apartment, you can get "welfare" because you're a student. I didn't do it, because it was too embarrassing, and I'm Chinese. You have to be ghetto black or poor white to get those benefits. And I'm sure you qualify.

>>80826182

>What part of giving back to the economy in spades with their kickass career do you not fucking understand?

The part where the college dropout rate would easily increase three-fold and creates a money pit that can only be alleviated with tax-payer funds. You assume everyone who goes to "free" college passes, when in fact they drop out far more than individuals who pay for it.

I don't get your tax point, but what I'm saying is this:

Credit Cards: $882,600,000,000.00
Auto Loans: $750,000,000,000.00

My point is - like single player healthcare - we end up paying MORE money for the same education. It's been determined that universal healthcare is cheaper, why wouldn't I have reason to believe that it'd be cheaper for education too?

They actually do once you factor in the associated costs of living. Also individuals with engineering degrees in silicon valley can start immediately close to 6-figures. My cousin in Trondheim makes 403,480 kr ($60,000) and he's 55, finishing up a doctorates in his spare time.

>that's why most of the civilized world thinks American college system is pants on head retarded and yet I think it's a good idea

American exceptionalism exists for a reason. Look at the top 10 colleges in the world, notice a similarity? 4/5ths of the colleges on the list, are located in the US. Our quality of education is superior to everywhere else in the world.

>>80827582
>Which was wrong, and has been determined as being wrong by superior education cultures around the world

Surveys involving the quality of college education internationally prove that your point is blatantly false.

>I don't get your tax point

You pay more collectively in taxes in a set amount of time than the worth of your student loans. Just look at these income tax brackets (pic related) and do the math yourself. This is just income taxes. Not the other forms of tax you will be subjected to in Europe that I've previously listed.

>We all pay for the fire dpt and police dpt kiddo, even though barely anybody uses it. That's taxes.

False equivalence and strawman. The police and the fire department is a much needed service to prevent/minimize disasters. I consider the fire/police department a much more important service than paying more in taxes to help you go to college. You're young and you don't understand the world; I get that. Maybe one day when you fully grow up, you'll understand.

Regardless of how much money we all have, we can't just have more resources because we collectively have higher banknotes. We need lowly scum like you to go and do blue-collar work that adds to our Gross Domestic Product so that people with wages have product to spend money on. It would be never possible to live in a world where everybody lives abundantly and nobody produces.

>OP wants to be an RN
>OP needs money/can't afford college

Pic related, housing and food are covered.

It's called being lower class asshole.

The rich don't want you getting a degree because then you will think you are above performing labor for them. If you get too smart you might compete with them or be able to challenge them legally.

I forgot all about the military. If you want a free education, OP. Join the military and you'll earn your qualification(s) in no time. They'll even pay you to send you to school after your service.

Wouldn't subsidized trade school and a tool loaning operation make more sense?

>people can't survive on minimum wage
>if you can't afford to educate yourself, you deserve minimum wage

Hmmmm... really made me think.

I don't think education should be free, but surely some of you retarded libertarians can acknowledge that employed people are better for the economy than unemployed people and a better-educated population is better as well, provided they're not educated in bullshit like women's studies.

Your fellow white Americans should be given jobs if they're willing to work, and if they're unqualified, the employer or government should subsidize their education. Make your country great. Your enemies are not your neighbors. Your domestic economy isn't zero-sum.

The true enemy is foreign countries undercutting your labor. Transnational corporations evading taxes. Foreign banks wielding influence over domestic policy. Instead of creating a permanent underclass of useless government leeches, work to create jobs and train people -- American people -- into them.

You're stronger united.

It's not free, you actually pay a small amount into the gi Bill. But I think active duty can CLEP classes and qualify for TA. If OP goes corpsman, he'll get some experience in field too.

If it isn't painfully evident, I did not serve. But I don't mind paying taxes into our military to support such a cause. It's better than handing people something for nothing.

Yeah you'll really be able to compete with China at this rate.

It might seem counter intuitive, but when technology is applied to the point that production greatly exceeds consumption, you actually need more people with free time than working to balance supply and demand.
Its really the only reason the slaves were freed in America and the reason marketing has been geared primarily to youth/adolescent markets and also stupid people spend more money more frivolously and generate more revenue for the economy.

Don't be so fucking whiny even though you're correct. Students should be given as much access to learning as possible for the betterment of American society, BUT the education needs to be accurate, factual information and not cucked into drivel by SJWism.

Yep. No youngfags remember or know that prior to ~1983, all community college was free except for small clerical fees. It was better that way, more accessible education prevents societal downfall.

Thats also why nobody fucking heard of a "student debt crisis" until the last 10-15 years, because there wasn't one until shitty colleges popped up everywhere and became pay-for-degree mills with questionable education quality at a high cost.

At least some of the major league colleges offer their online curriculum for free, so if you have substantial determination and self-discipline you can build yourself a half-decent college education for the price of internet.
